The bracket for the upcoming Chinese tournament World E-sport Championships 2014 has been released.
The format will be a standard double elimination bracket, including the finals in which the lower bracket winner needs to win two Best of 3s.
Liquid`Bunny who qualified from the European qualifier is unable to attend due to health issues and will be replaced by ZooTop, the 4th place finisher from the Chinese qualifier.
WEC 2014 runs from September 5th to 7th in Hangzhou, China.
Why no WCS points from this? Is it because only the grand finals are offline? Would have been a great opportunity for Snute at least to get some more points.
Edit: Looks like by "grand finals" they actually mean the whole tournament other than the qualifiers so that's not the reason. So I'm confused--why isn't this a Tier 2 WCS event?

Technically this qualifies for at least a WCS Tier 3 event, but it looks like they missed the WCS event submission deadline, at least that's what I've heard.

Ah, thanks. That's a little sad, would have created a lot more interest in this tournament in the foreign scene if Snute's Blizzcon hopes were riding on this tournament (as they are on every WCS-eligible tournament he's in from now on).
Still a great opportunity for Snute, Jim, Jaedong or HerO to bag $25,000 though!
Wait why does bunny leaving from the European Qualifier mean that someone from the Chinese qualifier gets the spot? wouldn't it go down to 3rd or 4th from the EU qualifier

Too much a short notice to arrange visas for anyone out of China unfortunately. Bunny sent notice of his situation just days ago, impossible to get anyone even Koreans a visa in like 5 days. I'm personally sad there is no Terran.
As Darkdwarf mentioned, all Asian nations other than Korea have approximately the same race distribution: something like 65% Zerg, 33% Protoss, 2% Terran. So very fitting that it's an all Z/P tournament. It's not a balance thing either, it's always been this way, even in WoL when Terran was the top race. I think it's an aesthetics thing, without Terran idols like BoxeR/NaDa/Flash to look up to, why play boring humans when you can be awesome aliens?
Shitty field for a tournament with such a lucrative prize pool, but since everybody knows that hosting an esports tournament in China is such a dicey proposition, this is what we get. Too bad, really.

KeSPA players did not play in the Korean qualifier and no other Terrans advanced from other qualifiers, so yeah, dunno what can they do any better.
