First off, thank you for the submissions for the fan fiction contest. I'll announce the winner when there's a break in the article schedule, probably later this week. Welcome Starcraft fans to the Teamliquid video contest! This contest is simple but exciting: make a hype video for the WCS Global Finals, taking place November 1st through 9th at the ESL Studios and Blizzcon, showcasing your passion and video-making skill. Starcraft (Starcraft II and particularly Brood War) has a long history of awe-inspiring videos creating incredible excitement for upcoming events, and we hope to see many of the kind in preparation for the WCS Global Finals.
The deadline for this contest is: Friday, Oct 31 10:00am GMT (GMT+00:00)
How to Participate!
Create a WCS Global Finals video featuring several of the attending players. Video length and theme is entirely up to the creator, but it would be preferrable that all 16 players feature somehow.
Post your video in this thread before October 31st (the day before the Ro16 begins!)
Only one video per contestant may be entered into the contest.
Only SFW content will be considered.
If you post a video that isn't your own, you will be disqualified from this contest
First place prize!
Internet fame!
$100, paid through Paypal. For more information on how this will work for the uninitiated, feel free to PM me.
Here's the SoO hype video I made a couple of days ago. Was thinking about making one for each player, but soon realised (about four songs in) I wasn't gone be able to make that happen due to other things I've got on my plate. : /
Post your video in this thread before October 31st
I am so overworked, I actually tried to click "this thread" so it leads me to the thread....

why not? There are free ones around and tons of tutorials that teach you... that is really just a lame excuse

Also i don't know how to make a video.
Well I don't see where it is written that it (the video) has to look extremely professional. So if you have a good Idea, write it down, make a small storyboard, and make the video. Video Editing tools are easy to use and easy to learn, unless you really want to make it look professional, but it is easy to put out very good results in a short period of time.
I know this is wishful thinking, but could someone create a video of StarCraft cosplayers doing a kpop like dance to a starcraft themed song? That would create some buzz for the game I think.
I'm interesting in submitting a video, but was wondering about music copyrights. Are we restricted to using royalty-free tracks, or will TL license out the winning music? Presumably the winning video will go on YouTube so how to avoid copyright infringement?

Yeah i wanted to make a video but my version of Vegas pro doesn't work anymore. For people that want metal songs and no problem with copyrights, you can take all "Last Territory" songs on youtube. I own the rights. Feel free to use them. (i don't get nothing this band doesn't exist anymore) + Show Spoiler +
If anyone wants to team up to work on this I'm down. I need someone who knows where to locate epic korean dialogue, epic photographs of players, epic trash talk snippets (MC?). Epic Artosis hype casting would also be great to build up to the climax of the video. Also, I have ideas for the music and visuals but I have never used video creation/editing software so I would need help with that as well but that's probably easier to locate via irc chat.
Oh yeah also epic crowd shots (past blizzcons?) and epic snippets from gameplay (blink stalkers, big fights, etc.), but I'm thinking that's probably not as hard to find as the dialogue and photographs of players.
The way I see it every one of them had a great year, thats why they are there, but anyways everybody has his own opinion, thats the direction I wanted the video to have :D
I tried to look for the ones where the players showed more emotion, with Inno was a little difficult xD, but maybe I overlooked some proleague clips , will take your suggestion if I make another video
So this took way more time than I'm willing to admit :p. Had to learn video editing first, and 16 players turned out to be actually quite a lot o_o. But once I started I had to finish it, even though it's more a hype movie than a video now. Anyway I'm happy with the result, enjoy:

Yeah, I really like the ever osl intro and as I normally edit Videos of Racing Simulations, I like to play with fast paced cuts and camera movements. The cutout effect also helps to cover the bad resolution of some photos

Yours was my favorite so far! Only video to have cool effects and show gameplay too!
Ok this contest is getting really close, another awesome entry. I love the tempo of this one, the HYPE flashes and then the black and white freezes of every player with the team logos incorporated into the names. So many details, incredible .
