That's what I don't understand. Its not like seeing an alcohol sponsor would make some random 18 year old kid want to drink, they will if they want to regardless. And I'd love to go to a bar and grab a drink of a company that sponsors a team I like if it wasn't too expensive

Its just about Blizzards main target group is not 18-XX, it is 12-XX. 12 year olds tend to have alot of time and a good bunch of money due to their parents. Games like Passionstone, Heros and yes, Starcraft not only aim for the pros and adults, they go for 12 year olds to. You dont advertise alkohol to twelve year olds, parents could be mad. And in the US they can be really really mad.

Also, wouldn't the "champagne ceremony" of DH, would be also "ilegal" or bad? cause it promotes champagne? Nonsense. And yeah, maybe it isn't money laudry, but seriously, if you are a sponsor, and you give money for a team, you usually want something in return, you aren't a charity, you are a buissness, so if they cant say "we are X and we are sponsiring this guys", what else do you get? Do you think companies like nike, coca cola, etc etc would sponsor teams if they didn't get screen time?

Who cares? The players are getting paid, their travel is being paid, and they're going to tournaments. If you're not the one putting up the money, what difference does it make to you who is?

Maybe this might jog your memory. Stability/clarity/assurance are pretty key or stuff like this is easily replicated. Of course, it's good the players are getting money and support now, no doubt about it. For all we know even if the team does close the players could be paid fully and it will just be a short stint and no harm is done. There is no real way to know at this point unless something solid comes up. That said, I tried contacting invasion e-sports via email after sending them a tweet and didn't get a reply yet so who knows >.>

If Tails has, in some way, been shorted, there are plenty of outlets for him to announce that. As for your example, Quantic not only had known names listed as sponsors, Simon Boudreault had been failing to pay players in full before Hyun - Massan notably had to go pubilc before Quantic would give him what he was owed. There is no evidence of ANY improper behavior as of yet by Invasion or any representative thereof. People are getting hung up on a non-issue.

They have payed the flights to San Jose for Gumiho, TOP and Super. Shouldn't that be enough to trust them for now? And with those players in the team (Again: Super and Gumiho are Code S and also qualified for SSL), the line-up is bad either. Korean star players have joined worse line-ups in the past. This is why I'm now starting to feel that they may be legitimate. That's quite an expense and it certainly makes them different from all the confirmed scam teams (LGYF for example) which never sent their players anywhere.

As for peoples concerns with sponsorship, yes, you'd feel more trusting and secure if you knew how much money there w as and where it was coming from, and even more secure if it was a business that was in operation and producing a steady, reliable profit that they can keep feeding Invasion eSport with. But that's not there in this case, and that's the end of the story. Work with what you've got. Stop derailing this thread for pages at a time while you back and forth about your fears like they're unique to you and nobody else is watching, least of all, the players themselves! Everything is going to be okay <3

As said beforen the second one loves esport escpecially SCII and don't see any point in showing his name if it's certainly forbidden at some point. It's not a marketing operation for our sponsors. The second sponsor name as been put only to reassure you guys. (and yes NbImre, a 2 mens company can do more money than a 20 one... from far). Why a company will give "free" money/equipements? Same as "Why english famillies are paying to maintain soccer teams?" or "Why google pay for some crazy useless open source projects?" or even "Why people are subscribbing to twitch players streams?". Anyway, we took the grammar point for french as english. We will try to do better in the future. Today, we don't know if we want our website become a generalist esport "news" (as aAa or Millenium for example) or simply an invasion team events coverages. That's why it can look "weird" to your experts eyes: the long term goal hasn't been determined yet. Welcome to DRG. Our team players were strong past years... We are sure they will be stronger later. (Congratulations to Gumiho for his today performances)
