Or he thinks that after being mainly a caster and playing 1000s of games casually and then trying professionally makes for a good practice for his SC2... Without a doubt his Sc2 career is done now. The people who will stick with Sc2 til LotV launches will be much better than anyone who thinks they can come back and compete in LotV after taking a prolonged time off.

I think it was over a long time ago when he stopped posting big results? A break of a couple months won't necessarily kill your career. It's just people don't usually quit and come back with even more fire. Tod has had an illustrious sc2 career. I'll never forget his DH run. His casting, analysis, and hosting is top notch. I think he's a real asset to the scene. I just hope if he continues casting SC he at least plays 10 random games or so a week to keep up with the meta. I'm sure he can ride his current skill for a while. Good luck in Heroes.

I disagree, I don't think sc2 has high enough of a skillcap that a pro can't come back from a hiatus and find a spot in the meta that they can position themselves for "success." I put that in quotes because foreigner success in sc2 isn't even a real thing at this point.

Yes it does. It means that when LOTV comes out it will be a new game, and people who spend their time perfecting tactics and strategies in Hots won't really have any inherent advantage once all the new units and new economy is implemented into the game.

I remember him, I believe he was not even 16, playing the World Cyber Games, building more towers than there were creeps on the map and attacking with siege engines. When the casters where joking about his APM, they actually showed him sitting on his chair with his feed on the table and using only his mouse hand. As much as I didn't like him back in the day, I really like him now. So I hope he will be doing well with the new game. I hope to see him around eSports a little while longer and I have a feeling SC2 wont do it for him any more. TL;DR: Good luck, ToD!
