Q: Let's start from all-evil self-introduction.
A: Hi everyone, my name is Li Jiahao, my ID is YSMS. I'm from Shijiazhhuang, Hebei Province. I'm 18. Currently studying computer science at University of Auckland. Not many nicknames so far, but my teammates call me Pu Shu of New Zealand.
Q: How long have you been following the game?
A: Since 2010 from Brood War, and I follow SC1 still. I've followed SC2 since Kespa players started to play SC2, 2 years have been.
Q: Why would you be interested in the games since 13 years old?
A: I think I'm rather partial to RTS games. I used to watch WC3 on Gamefy very often, sometimes I watch SC1 as it was on. I liked Bisu and Jaedong very much.
Q: You are very young. How do your family react to your playing and training? How do yourself contemplate?
A: I faced their opposition and had to play no more than 2 hours. But that's a matter of yesteryear. When I came to the club to begin training, I told them I just want to feel the environment. They approved my decision and I think probably it is that I've grown up much.
Q: You were going to a foreign high school. As you felt, what's the difference between the environment of e-sports, home and abroad?
A: I think they have different views on education. And they can have time to do what they like, therefore there are more people playing the game. Also, there are much more small competitions.
Q: You played on AM server, right?
A: Yes, but I did not buy the Global Play. So I just bullied buddies in Custom.
Q: What's the difference between two servers?
A: I did not play high-level players on AM server much. But people below 120 Apm or Gold League are pretty much the same. A CN Diamond might pay more attention to details than his AM counterpart. But AM gamers and much more imaginative and creative.
Q: What do you feel about the club life so far?
A: Very strict timetable, joyous and sweaty training, and peaceful leisure and resting time.
Q: Any interesting things?
A: There was a time that we had to fight Qiuqiu, the vagrant dog we had adopted. We came up with numerous ways to stop it from barking. It all ended in vain. He still barks at 7am and we could not get more sleep.
Q: What progress have you made?
A: I now have better sense of timing. My PvZ win rate went from 40% to 60%. Teacher Zhai (Zycart) teaches me PvT, Zerg King Lyu (Sakya) teaches me PvZ, Master Wolf (LOUP) teaches me PvP. I learnt to play by default from Xiao Ming (Little Ming, TooDming). We together discovered the philosophy of 'let's pay our respect by being cheesy first'.
Q: Improvement on ranks?
A: Eternal No.1 on Diamond, caused by the all-evil [sic] MMR. But Teacher Zhai said I already have the competence of GM.
Q: In which respect do you feel most deeply?
A: It is not an easy industry. Only hard work and much think can bring improvement. I've seen Teacher Zhai passed the Mission 35 of a Marine spread game, along TooDming and Zerg King Lyu practising after everyone else is gone.
Q: How do you think people of your age or even younger than you to be pros?
A: It is alright if they got their talent. But if you enter too early and don't achieve much, then you'll have a hard time after retirement. Perhaps it is best for people to get into this in university.
Q: Thank you for being with us.
A: I thank ZoO and everyone in it. Also for everyone's support and attention. I hope the club will get better and better. Every player could live up their dreams.
