Just saw this on the internet. Apparently "the gaming press and several prominent esports organizations have been told to submit their requests for beta keys to be distributed directly by Blizzard."
Also: "One source told us that last time a request was issued for a Blizzard title “the keys arrived about three weeks later.”
Hype?
Edit: I told you guys computer specs matters, they appended this to the article:
The source added that the beta will most likely be rolled out in a manner akin to Heart of The Swarm. “It will be initially closed with access to the pros, the press and people’s machines that fit a certain type of spec,” the person explained. “Then increasing waves of requested keys and giveaways before becoming an open beta.”

Well someone's not gonna get their beta key if you know what I mean

Oh damn. This means I have to start writing news to Gaming.fi so I can get my beta key I really loved to play hots closed beta. Good memories
|
Maybe if I pretend not to care, Blizzard will send me a key this time.

For HotS, I had been among the first wave. However, back then I played an unhealthy amount of WoL :S Damn you rl, damn you...

GPU OPTIMIZATION PLS I forget where I read / heard this, but computer specs do matter in Blizzard's lottery system for beta. We also know that they've been preferring players who are more active in the live game for betas of expansions.
So to improve your chances of beta, 1: ladder actively in HotS, 2: make sure your rig is fully spec'ed up.

yeah specs matter in that shit computers have a higher chance because blizz know it works on a gtx980 but they don't know if it works "acceptably" on an 8800 ultra or w/e.

Actually make sure your rig looks like you're playing on a toaster. Being able to run on lower end machines has always been a priority target!
I got in through micro tournament last beta. Hopefully TL will do something similar!

try having a female identity in one of your battle.net accounts. my 2 SC2 gal pals get invited into every beta early... for SC2, Heroes , D3, Hearthstone, you name it... i gave 1 of my BNet accounts a female identity and it worked well for me... as far as getting into beta tests.
obviously, this is anecdotal, but its worth a shot.

They were "Hoping" for a beta release in the first half of 2015 made me think it would come at the end of this summer or something. They are also still so heavily experimenting on new units, attack speeds and such, how can there be a beta in just 1 month?

My hope is that they are finally letting the community test those things as well... but I think thats wishful thinking.

I use a super low end laptop and have helped frame rate test maps before. I should get a key.

I think they're trying to cover a wide range of GPUs / CPUs.
I had one friend who always had the latest GPUs ahead of a Blizzard beta and he got into all of them in the first round.
