Prominent League of Legends and CS:GO analyst Duncan "Thorin" Shields consistently uploads videos in a series entitled "Thorin's Thoughts" that examine and analyze both current events and historical context in Esports. While for the most part these videos have been focused on LoL and CS:GO Thorin recently begun expanding his videos to include Starcraft: Brood War and Starcraft 2.
This is great news for Starcraft fans. First of all the videos are very well done. Thorin does a lot of research and brings new perspectives and ideas to existing topics as well as opening the eyes of many fans to information they otherwise would never have gotten.
Secondly, Thorin has a huge following in the CS:GO and LoL scenes. Him doing Starcraft 2 videos exposes fans of other games to ours, creating new interest from other esports in Starcraft 2.
That last point is a double-edged sword. Since so many of his followers come from a League or CS background it seems that few bother to click on a video labeled "SC2/BW."
Despite the fact that Thorin has said he will make the videos regardless of traffic, I feel it is important that these videos reach their target audience. That's where you guys come in. I encourage all fans of Starcraft 2 (and Brood War) to check out his videos and give them a shot. His most recent Starcraft 2 video expands on topics covered in Zealously's excellent Kings of Silver piece and adds more names to the list of Starcraft's greatest Kongs.
As I said before, Thorin adds new video content quite consistently so even though many are still focused on other games there will still be plenty of Starcraft-related videos to come. In addition videos without a specific game label in the title often contain references to many games in clouding Starcraft 2. If you enjoy the video I encourage you to be on the lookout for more. Let's show content producers that the Starcraft 2 scene appreciates quality content when they see it.
I'm usually not one to judge based on reputation, but I got to say that Thorin's reputation in my eyes is pretty terrible. His last vid that started one of the most laughable thread on TL doesn't help either.

yeah, Thoorin is pretty hit and miss. His grilled series was pretty awesome
I hate this disgustingly arrogant whining prick, who thinks his opinion is so worth spreading on the entire interwebz, but if he draws more people to SC2 then its worth doing it

You may find him obnoxious/biased which is a viable reason to not watch his videos, but he's not racist. Also he doesn't have a good reputation, that's true but that's not really the point here. I'm much more focused on the quality of the content. If the content is good I say we should watch it.
Now some may argue that they don't want to financially support someone they dislike based on past events but to be honest he's already stated that he's not doing this for traffic. In addition he gets so much traffic from his LoL and CS videos anyway that watching his sc2 videos isn't making a sizable differences in his overall views. I'm just asking people to have an open mind and try the vids out. If you don't like them I completely understand I just felt like the videos weren't reaching their target audience.

Yeah yeah I was just reacting to the fact that he gets less hits on his SC2 vids, which imo is mainly caused by his reputation in the SC2 scene. Nothing wrong with posting his vids here and encouraging people to watch them I think.
I take it for what it is, his thoughts, his opinions. From my view he is opinionated as fuck but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Even if I really disagree, conversations in general about sc2 from someone as popular as him, i'll take it.

What? Nobody should watch somebody they dislike because of its quality. There might be a reason why his SC2 videos don't get any views, and that's because he committed social sudoku. The *only* reason he's still posting SC2 videos is because his ego is too large to realize he screwed up and now he's just taking the moral high ground. I don't even think this is refutable given his track record, so why don't we just let him drift away into obscurity?

He's not going to drift away into obscurity, he's really popular in LoL and CS:GO. He's going to be a high profile figure in esports whether sc2 fans watch his stuff or not so why not watch his stuff and promote good content for our game?
I loved his "Grilled" interviews, but hate his rants and discussions. I think I might enjoy his videos, although they are a bit long. Could be a good podcast to listen to on the bus though .
Don't like this guy, he is a yt version of the cancer who is saddly inhabiting Brood War area (that one who bash SC2 with their skill cap/floor/chimney/window/shoe bullshit).
