It's has also been confirmed that FRENCH will be the main language of the event, not English. Main stream will still be in English presumably.
Tod's French not as good as his English maybe. But seriously, French? The lingua franca of the day is English are they not aware? Is there a Latin stream?

The crowd had better deliver.
I'd watch the shit out of a Latin stream, just for shits and giggles.

ja. when will it be deutsche's turn?
Like, never. ESL has a studio at Cologne, any event would be hosted in English. Kein deutsch for you. But hey, I actually understand French a bit. And je pense que French has a certain je ne sais quois.
Lol French at main language, Blizz/ESL finally doing something right this WCS season :D Although having French commentators for the live audience but an English-speaking host feels kinda weird, we need Pomf to warm up the audience ffs As for the English cast it's nice to see that they found a Zerg analyst finally d:

To each his own, I'd personally take any RotterdaM/Nathanias/Kaelaris/ToD combo over Tastosis.
Now that I think about it... what if when WCS season finals rotated over European countries the main language (like on site, hosting and hype etc was done in the original language). I can tell from having been at Dreamhack Valencia that a lot of potential viewers did not stop at the Starcraft stage even if it was by far the fanciest, with what seemed to be most expensive production, etc... Why? Because there was lol going on with main stage with casting and hosting in Spanish. We have no one in the Spanish scene that can even compare to English personalities, but wouldn't it be great to have a DH Valencia hosted by ROOT.Catz and theArgie, for example?

I think that the main difference is that afaik (correct me if I'm wrong ofc) there are no casters with the influence of Pomf&Thud or TakeTV in the Spanish scene. If O'Gaming didn't exist and there were no reliable, professional casting organization in France I'm not sure if we'd have French as the main language here.

You are totally right, partly because of the almost non-existent Spanish scene (I'm still amazed we got one more year of SC2 at Valencia), and partly because O'Gaming right now is a very big deal in e-sports. I mean a partnership with l'Equipe that is just insane!

ToD confirmed in the biggest slump ever in the french language department.
nice line up
apart from that, interview, players introduction for sure will be in english (so the main stuff)
i don't get why having a french cast for the crowd is a big deal for some people ? just take a look at the setup of any korean events ..
Well to be fair Korean events primarily target Korean audience, and when events happen like in Germany or Sweden we have a main cast in English d: But I agree, it's cool to adapt to the country you're in.
No RedEye feels wired. I still not like the combo of Host and Translator. Frensh main language at event? Could feel as wired as Dramhack Moscow.
Not to talk about this 3 Days Ro16 till finals journey.
Sounds hypercritical. But there are flaws and they have to be solved for S2 Finals.
Thus i really like they invited Fenner. I am not that guy who watches First Person Streams, so not alot of Fenner. But when he is at BTTV, I like his calm voice and his on point comments.

This is the list I want to see, it would improve the casting quality about 500%
Edit - Just to clarify, I think Kaelaris is on par with Totalbiscuit casting wise... i.e. really terrible awareness of what's going on. I really dislike this in casters.
Edit 2 -

Eeek, time to try and remember the French I learnt at school... Will being able to count infinitely in French help? That's pretty much all I can remember haha :D

But Panel Host means more sweet $$$ and less work (:
Having been at both Ironsquid events with le terrible French skills I have to say I didnt mind it at all. Still hoping there will be a 3rd IS event one day.
French hype cast and crowd will deliver dont worry. <3

No, but he's very okay, and far from a disappointment.
And whatever about the event being hosted live in French. It's not like the vast majority of you are going to be there and have to sit through the baguettes and les ouis. I'm watching the main stream, and there's no reason to believe it will be any less excellent than it usually is.

Nice to see Fenner there. Hope Kaelaris gets to cast the finals, altough I feel it will be Rotti and Nate.

Fenner is a great addition, looking at how he analyses games in his own time i an only imagine the work he would do for a calendar envent. This is looking good.
So everything will be in English (because I doubt anyone besides ToD speaks French well enough) besides.. the interviews? I mean, the analyst desk is completely English spoken. Let's just do this thing in English because it already is?

Yea cause Smix, Apollo, Fenner, Rotterdam, Kaelaris, and Nathanias all speak French quite fluently (basically all the casters except ToD) am I right? LOL...

I think it means that the main stream will feature the French commentators?
Seriously people ... The live cast at the event itself will be in French, but the English stream's commentators and interviews will obviously be in English like it has always been. Compare it to a GSL, just swap Korean out for French. I'm really baffled that so many people are having trouble with understanding how this will work. All the "french so arrogant" hissy-fits are facepalm inducing.
I don't see why everybody would go into french arrogance to explain why the STAGE (and only the stage) will be in French.
We have an amazingly powerful scene, with charismatic casters that will get people to go crazy, it's shaping up to be an amazing event with an amazing atmosphere and you guys are already bitching based on some knowledge you think you have of france.
French stage cast is silly, what about people who wants to see this live, because you know, its GLOBAL event, but they don't know French? I feel it caters too much to the local audience...
English lineup is great, but I want to see Shaun commentating more!

Grow up people it's 2015.
And what about all the peoples traveling from around the world to watch this event live? A bit sad for everyone that booked their ticket already and now wont understand a word.
Nothing against events that use the local language for their events but this isnt a local event, this is the final of the biggest Starcraft 2 league out there.

I guess I didn't think of it from the perspective of foreign viewers coming to the venue and not understanding French. But the thing is it won't even matter because you gonna freaking love being there anyways. The atmosphere is gonna be crazy and I'm guessing that it's all that matters if you actually buy a ticket to come.
if it's gonna be a problem could they possibly get headsets for English? I don't disagree with the choice of the stage language being French but I can see how a lot of people are upset.
