It's happening, SBENU is sponsoring StarTale!
It is planned to recruit some additional players as well.
Sonic, head of SBENU, said that StarTale has some great potential, as was seen in Proleague 2015 Round 1.

Naturally their staff existed only within that framework The Jin Air coach now was a different coach from the T8 coach they had if I remember correctly.

In late 2013, MVP, IM, Prime, and Najin (LoL organization) joined Kespa. In the last year or so, Kespa has made it so you dont necessarily need to join them to participate in Proleague.

Sure, it's nice that he's pumping lots of money into e-sports, but it's also dangerous if it's reliant on SBENU. They aren't quite Red Bull yet, who can afford to have a massive marketing budget, so long term hopefully other people will do the league/competition sponsoring as well.

Let's see what will happen! Life is overrated in team leagues. He's still good, but not that good. Only had a 5-4 last round and this round isn't much better with respect to who he faced. Despite all the hype, KT didn't even make the round finals and almost didn't make the playoffs. Not to mention Stats is the clear star of that team. Losing Life obviously hurt ST, but it shouldn't have mattered to the extent of a 0-7. It was Leenock also not playing as much as he should have nor up to his round 1 level where he was doing very well. If Leenock gets in gear again, DRG picks it up and Bomber decides to give a damn, they should be fine. Probably won't win any rounds, but might make another playoff.

They aren't quite Red Bull yet, who can afford to have a massive marketing budget, so long term hopefully other people will do the league/competition sponsoring as well. How do you figure SBENU is responsible for half the sponsorship in SC2? They are heavily involved, but are they really making up half the Korean SC2 sponsorship?

The new TL question, Where is Bomber? (I've been asking this since December) At the beginning of Proleague was said that Bomber is the coach of the team, and will not play very much

Sbenu is a multi million dollar company, although truth be told, theres probably not too many investors interested. It's been five years and it's taken this long to get one NEW korean organization ( I guess Jinair counts, but they only got a title sponsor when they picked up 2 lol teams). Sonic isn't the biggest SC2 fan as he's said in the past, and the fact he founded the multi million dollar company and sponsors the premier League of Legends tournament, says they have a decent marketing budget. At the end of the day, it's a net gain for SC2.

For me, the ups are obviously everything he does for BW, and the downs are his support for SC2. Because it's not just any random game competing with BW, it's the game that is being pushed by the people who tried to gut the BW scene to make room for SC2. Given what Sonic was able to do for BW with less experience and money, I shudder to think what he might do now for SC2, when he has more of both. At the very least he will delay the inevitable fate of SC2 in Korea, but, Sonic being Sonic, he might actually succeed. And that would be bad for the BW scene, which is why it's a "down" for me.

It's a real roller coaster of emotions with this guy, for me. you seem to be a guy who needs constant conformation that everything is going to be OK. fine let me be that guy for you. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/brood-war/483928-sonictvs-new-project You're fine, hes not abandoning BW. Edit: you even posted in that thread and you still have doubts? R U 4 RELA? Do you not know what "a roller coaster of emotions" means? yes, ups and downs, but why do you have the downs when everything is on the up and up. And that would be bad for the BW scene, which is why it's a "down" for me. ...what the fuck

And as far as I can tell sonic can't affect SC2 as a game directly and when the game itself struggles with problems you need not worry about it taking the viewers away, sonic can do a lot of things, but making SC2 as entertaining as BW is not one of them.

There is no b/p, it's b or p, same with g and k. Two different sounds in korean or english. It's romanization that mess things up. I detect a difference, and my studies have supported it. In Korean the contrast is between aspirated and not while in English it is between voiced or unvoiced. That is to say, you can aspirate B or P as much or as little as you like or ease of speech demands, but it doesn't change the meaning. But they are distinctly different in that B must be voiced and P much be unvoiced. In Korean it's the opposite, no? ㅍ must be aspirated and ㅂcan't be, but they both generally sound semi-voiced to me. But since we tent to aspirate P more than B I think there becomes a more obvious way to romanize it. This becomes difficult for SBENU because we can't really easily say unvoiced S followed by voiced B without a bit of a pause or gap between. But it definitely seems right to aspirate the B less than you would for a typical "sp" even if you aren't voicing it.

But it definitely seems right to aspirate the B less than you would for a typical "sp" even if you aren't voicing it. both sound aspirated to me. just saying, if its sbenu its 스베누, not 스페누 and the two do not sound the same, similar, yes but only if one does not know how its spelled or never heard such pronunciation. but in this case we do so we can distinguish between b or p, ㅂ or ㅍ. as you say, with S in the front b might sound like p or b/p, but p can be exaggerated to make the difference while b does not. sbenu and spenu are different in english, so should/is in korean. im no linguists and i guess they're the ones on authority on how korean letters should be spelled with latin but it just irks me when i see something romanized and its pronounced differently than what its suppose to be (at least close as possible), goes both ways too though. like Bennu is an ancient egyptian deity so maybe it sounds different in its original pronunciation...its a never ending cycle (S for sonic with Bennu for phoenix, hence the logo)
