WTF I thought for sure I was about to read about an offline event in vancouver....
Nope, even though it should be and its infuriating that Toronto gets everything.
i for one am outraged that there are no tournaments in medicine hat
he could have the finals in the big teepee they have there, it'd be great!
but seriously, I dont get why this isn't in Vancouver. Northwest hasn't had a tournament ever, we're starving for one and Rifkin was our best chance to get one.

Is it a timezone thing? Maybe it's a timezone thing.
They should just skip the pizza/ice cream party. If they know they want to carry on to another event they really should be more conservative with their money

My guess is Toronto is a bigger city and they've already done some successful tournaments there (NASL comes to mind with Stephano's epic victory dance).

Hard to have a successful tournament here when nobody will even try!
This thread should be in the news section on the front page. With the big organizations cutting prize pools, air time and resources for SC2 -- tournaments like this one may be the future of our scene. TL should be supporting it.

There was a whole Remax segment about how Basetrade couldn't do an offline event because of their style. It offended me, since Rifkin and ZG are probably the best SC2 content providers of late.
I can't wait to see how they choose to put this together. It will have issues b/c its their first offline event, but I bet the issues will be minor and easily fixed for their second. Can't wait.

Indeed. I was going to complain, but I realize that Destiny I lacked front page coverage too. I think anyways. I searched the Featured and community news sections for aug/2014.
I would like to see it go up however. It is a community funded event after all.

We may not be thinking of the same conversation, but I believe the jist of that conversation was that Rif and ZG couldn't replace people like Tastetosis and Apollo at premier events like DH and IEM, but they would fit great at events like Homestory Cup. This event will have their own flavor, and will be awesome!
