The fact that TL writers are terrible at predicting things is well-known by now. But are you any better?
The 2015 SK Telecom Proleague will take place on Saturday, Oct 10 9:30am GMT (GMT+00:00), pitting the #1 seed SK Telecom against #4 seed Jin Air Green Wings, coming into the finals with a clean 4-0 record in playoffs matches.
Who do you think will win, and what maps will go to the respective teams? Post your predictions (and reasoning, if that's your fancy) below! Can you get this star-studded matchup right, or will you join TL writers in being ridiculously wrong?
I suppose Dream could beat Maru, but I haven't seen him at all recently, so I said Maru. Dark-Rogue will be very close, and Pigbaby can beat soO. soO is pretty weak vs Protoss bullshit
Maru can beat Dream cuz he has full practice mode and i doubt Dream will play good mech at all to trouble him. So i see a good bio TvT Cure vs Sorry is 50-50 however Cure has played TvT in the last few rounds of play offs and looked very good vs mech as bio until the last 5 minutes xD i see him as favorite soO is huge favorite vs pigbaby so i see that going to him as long as he holds the cheese push $O$ to gimmicky and in form to beat a robotic machine i see him sOs as favorite Dark vs Rogue i see Dark being favored vs Rogue ZvZ but i hope im wrong, if rogue takes that Jin Air win in my predictions Classic should be favorite vs Trap too, but BO1 PvP so maybe!!
Ace..i see SKT T1 not sending out Inno thinking it will be sOs or Rogue as ace, Jin Air counter that sending out Maru knowing they have Classic locked down in that match up with Maru on Coda.
All the reason i have is that i'm a jin air fanboy, although i'm a bit scared about Maru chance vs Dream and INnoVation momentum after GSL finals against sOs also Classic vs Trap will be a slugfest BO1 PvP anyone can take it if it goes that far.
Sorry has good TvT. Cure still doesn't remember how he was so good last year. Dream's bubble popped as everyone in the SSL group selections predicted. soO won't fall for Pigbaby's shenanigans. Inno has enough material fron sOs to study. Dark's ZvZ is bad. Not sure if Rogue's is that good either but if things go wild his "clutchness" (?) should grant him the game. Classic just needs to survive until the late game and he knows it.
Note: if Dream prepares well or gets lucky or Maru derps then it's gonna be a 4-0! ... #riphype
Because I am always bad at heart VS head, but I tried my best (again...), and I will go with a on-point Rogue and Inno against not so best-of-their-shape Dark and sOs (even though sOs rampage in late SPL). Very hard calls for all of those matches!
Sorry vs Cure and Dark vs Rogue is 50/50 or even 40/40 as some might say I went for Sorry and Rogue just because.
Probable Aces: SKT: Inno & Classic -> but rather Inno JA: Maru, sOs & Rogue -> should be Maru but because Inno is probably gonna show JA might want to throw a curveball as Maru is quite vulnerable in TvT especially against Mechovation. Being sOs psycho fan I hope for his second victoriuos appearance
Again, Sorry should beat Cure but that could go either way (JAGW would very much like to get a win here) Maru shouldnt have trouble vs DreamvT soO is favored but Pigbaby could pull something off here, sOs needs to be the champion Ace bongjwa here or all is lost Rogue Dark is 50/50 and Classic Trap should be a shutout
some people mad at all the mirrors, I think my Dream final would be
INnoVation v sOs Dark v Trap soO v Rogue Classic v Pigbaby Dream v Cure Sorry v Maru
Sorry < Coda > Cure Dream < Echo > Maru soO < Iron Fortress > Pigbaby INnoVation < Vaani Research Station > sOs Dark < Terraform > Rogue Classic < Cactus Valley > Trap
SKT 4-2
Sorry beat Flash, one of the best TvTer's in the area handily just last round. he can beat Cure. Dream beat Maru in KeSPA cup recently, I believe he can do it again. soO vs Pigbaby is self-explanatory... Pigbaby might have beat TY, but that was more TY's fault. INnoVation and sOs are both beasts (and perhaps favorites to win Blizzcon). I think sOs has INnoVation's number but INnoVation could still win. Dark vs Rogue is a matchup that can be very gimmicky. In my opinion, Dark getting beating by Leenock and Hyun in recent ZvZ's does not bode well for him. CLassic is still a beast even though he slowed down a bit... (and lost to Dear), but I still think that Classic can beat Trap.
Pretty hard to predict imo, both players didn't play a whole lot in the past few weeks / months. Cure is the more accomplished player though, so i will give this to him (45:55)
That might be the closest match tbh, i still think Innovation is very beatable in TvP and sOs is the master of Protoss BS. I will give Innovation a small edge here because he is the recent GSL champ though. (55:45)
I predict that about half of the theatrics of the final will fall flat and the ones we actually enjoy will wind up being quickly forgotten (SECO SECO SECO)
Just going with the players who have higher recent win-rates in the relevant matchup. Most likely upsets seem to be SoS > Innovation or Maru > Dream, but in that case I still favour Dark and Classic and thus SKT for the win.

SKT 4-2 with only sOs and Rogue taking wins for Jin Air.
Sorry had a great round 4, while Cure has been struggling. Dream has more games to study and Maru is iffy in TvT right now. soO > Pigbaby, no matter what flavor of cheese comes with the bacon. sOs is on fire and will throw a wrench in the machine. Rogue is best in high-pressure 1v1 (less so in bo5). This one I'm actually least sure of, but I give it to Classic for experience and his general good performance this year.

That's the idea
OK everyone keep the non-sense predictions coming! (i.e. Let this poor KT fan win the prize)
People keep forgetting how clutch Inno was in team leagues: Won Proleague 2013 with STXSoul Won Acer Teamstory Cup season 2 (2013) and season 3 (2014) with Acer Won GSTL 2013 with Axiom-Acer Will win Proleague 2015 with SKT
Sorry < Coda > Cure Dream < Echo > Maru soO < Iron Fortress > Pigbaby INnoVation < Vaani Research Station > sOs Dark < Terraform > Rogue Classic < Cactus Valley > Trap

I've thought about it before. But... It doesn't really make sense. Because what happens if SKT or Jin Air win 4-0? Then the most points I can award is 4 as opposed to 8.
INnoVation will give Dream pointers from his GSL preparation
(Z)soO < Iron Fortress > (P)Pigbaby
Pigbaby will do some random all-in. soO will defend it perfectly. Pigbaby will do another random all-in. soO will defend it perfectly. Pigbaby will kill soO with the 3rd all-in. Why? For the Zerg salt.
(T)INnoVation < Vaani Research Station > (P)sOs
sOs will cheese, but then lose to widow mines again

You could change the overall match to 2, 3 or 4 points (your choice) and then add 1-point matches.
Sorry > Cure Dream > Maru soO > Pigbaby InnoVation > sOs
I believe the first match will be tight, and we haven't seen much greatness out of Dream since 2 SSL's ago, but we know it's there, then with two studly SKT players in the 3rd and 4th matches.. I can just see this being a landslide. Rooting for a Jin Air win though ^_^

It is totally possible that either team could 4-0. It's pretty crazy.

so what? so its better to give no point at all? THIS makes no sense at all

Guys, there is a website that allows you to make match predictions (football leagues for example). I adapted it to Starcraft and created two communities, one for Proleague and the other one for WCS finals and you are all invited to join and make your predictions. You will get points based on how well you guessed the outcome of the matches and there will be a classification.

I fear this happen...
We know nothing about SK preparation and we know that Jin Air is always well prepared.
Heart prediction : Soory<Cure Dream>Maru SoO>Pigbaby INnoVation>sOs Dark<Rogue Classic>Trap 4-2 for the best team!!
Winner!
now for my self righteous excuse: i (along with 3 others who had the same picks) came very close. we each had maru beating dream. which, tbf, he almost did- until one move..
