Are you going to post the videos for them? Some of those speed runs might be pretty nice for people doing mastery achievements to see the best paths to take, units, timings, etc. It would be much appreciated.

The StarCraft 2 Speed Demo Archive forum was pretty busy when the last two expansions came out. I'd guess people are just now starting to get a feel for the missions, maps, units, abilities, combos, etc. and we will start to see some crazy fast missions with warpins, DTs, etc.

Do you know if there are others speedrunners trying to speedrun lotv ? Does some streamers stream campaign speedrun ?
I love speedrunning but it seems the starcraft community really don't give a shit about speedrunning.
Do you plant expansions all over the map if you lose in the campaign too?
I still would like to see someone do the missions in order through the campaign. Doing them from the archives you have a lot of the tech/Spear of Adun abilities that in some missions you originally wouldn't have.

normal in 12 (or 24 cant remember) hours? yea I would have liked to see something similar for hots and lotv
The achievement is called "Hurry up it's raid night" (reference to WoW), and it is 8 hours. An annoying achievement, forces you to redo the campaign usually

i used the same tactics as in your video, just with 10 dt's instead, use first lazer to break the wall, second on the canon and 3rd on the final 2 pylons.
edit: to get the vision for the final 2 pylons you just need to manually use the blade attack thingi from the narazim? DT's, as they're invincible during the attack.

I am wondering what the "official" speed running rules say about the use of spear of adun powers, which effectively pauses the game. I am guessing it should be taken into account as well?

The rules are "beat the missions as fast as possible without cheating/glitches or saving/loading" I don't think many people are up for running this game without power ups.

I'm not saying that. I'm rather saying that it's usually the length of the speed run video, not the ingame timer which counts towards the total time. So if you're idling with the solar lance for 3 minutes, it makes your total time 3 minutes less. That would essentially require you to be quick and precise with it.

It's the ingame clock that counts. Everyones computer loads at different speeds. So to make it fair for everyone the ingame clock is what is important.

It's debatable though, whether it should count or not. It does pause the game timer.

We've just gone by in-game time for the previous 2 expansions, The Spear of Adun seems to be a unique case in that it actually pauses the game but I would still argue the same metric should be used as the other games.
You could theoretically take 3 minutes to aim your abilities with the spear but the vast majority of speedrunners try not to make their run look like shit which should be enough incentive not to do that.
Jesus, these strats look so well thought out and executed. I especially like your idea of taking multiple objectives at once using time freeze in these multiple objective missions. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Thank you! I have not had time to begin laddering yet because all time has been spent on the campaign.
I remember this is a guy who beat most WoL brutal campaign with absolute 0 lost unit and clear all enemy units on each map (include Zero Hour, Welcome to Jungle, the Dig)
These are pretty entertaining to watch and see how strategies evolve and shift to shave off seconds here and there. Keep them coming! GL on the speed-run records, if there's any competition out there yet.
You don't seem to be getting a lot of recognition here on TL for this, but I am glad it exists. Speedrunning is sick and so is SC2, I wish the SC2 speedrunning scene was bigger.

Absolutely. I enjoy the videos and the strategies discovered.
Good stuff, man! I've always been a big fan of these things being speed run. I also really liked Raelcun's WoL runs.
Have you given the second epilogue mission a shot? Maybe it would be simple for you, because it's just a case of commanding Kerrigan as quickly as possible at the beginning (two clicks) and then never using her again. But it seems to me like it would be really difficult. You'd have to, for example, send envoys out to kill the thrashers.

Some of those 3 min runs just look insane. I hope you'll be getting the Nova mission packs run as well when you're comfortable enough with your times on the rest of the campaign.
