[He's not swearing]
This Code A, extended to 60 players, had two games that were highly publicised; JD and Stork. with the return of legends, Code A was better loved than ever. Unfortunately, JD failed to advance Code S; though JD won first 2 games, he eventually suffered a reverse sweep by his opponent. Obviously, It was a shameful moment for JD`s fans. Stork, on the other hand, succeeded in reaching his Code S. The return of commander made an Internet sensation, becoming one of the most searched subjects on the Internet in Korea.
There was nothing special about his playing against Bogus; it`s a common PvT after the patch was done. It was nothing but a game that Protoss won against Terran, Dealing with Terran`s Liberators by using Colossi and attempting constant harassment.
The reason why people were thrilled is not because of the game, but of the player; Stork is one of the living legends that is serious in playing SC2 (With JD.) and gets results; he`s been playing SC series since the heyday of BW, and is playing Starcraft2 as a playing coach. Even 2008, the time when I [JYP] was a trainee of Samsung, Stork was considered the best protoss of the year.
After the transition from BW to SC2, many progamers left this scene for their second lives. Though SC2 is a squeal of BW, it`s a different game. Of course there were other issues like military duties; many gamers got other jobs after their service, like civil servant.
Moreover, players’ physical capabilities decline as the years go by. Even if your experience improved your decision, you cannot utilise it if your hand is adverse. This might absorb players` self-confidence, especially for the ones who`ve been won so many games in his heyday.
Stork, and of course JD, is continuing their career under this kind of pressure. Though I wish them the best results, But it's fine if they don't; challenge is meaningful in itself. People are excited because the legends are here with us.
It`s a great thing to see them playing. That`s why people come to venue and watch streams regardless of the result. That`s why people applaud when they win. They decided to stay here, while others were leaving. Though there were many issues, people still love to watch players playing because they’re making a constant effort.
They are not only the legends, but also the real players that are contemporaneous with us. That`s why we should cheer and support their challenge, regardless of the result.
