My thoughts exactly.

I hope this is not too off-topic, but how do teams nowadays get new players ? I always see the same name reappearing or transfers happening. Is there still something like the courage tournament to get a pro licence as it was in BW ?

Symbol was my fav players back in WoL not only because of his incredible team spirit (see old TSL runs in GSTL) but also for his incredible innovative play he showed in Ironsquid1 (victories against MKP, Nestea and MVP iirc)
I always felt sad he couldn't end up at the top.
He still can be an extremely good sniper IMHO, if he gets is confidence back.

totally of topic but + Show Spoiler +according to both KT and Afreeca, this trade was made after Life himself asked for it and both team were very surprised. Source : somewhere in the "life arrested for match fixing" thread, about 2 months ago

Symbol had to play 3 matchfixers in Code S once.
It's a match made in heaven.
Don't forget how Symbol hated Prime back in the days, always trying to set up team kills in GSL groups whenever he could.

It isnt just me that thinks KT knew about this and said to Afreeca "Please let us get away with this bad publicity and we´ll compensate you."

All of the top players are locked into contracts. More so they are signing players who have already broken out. And if that's the case, no one has done that better then Stork.
Exhibit A!

So this means Symbol's career will continue. That's good to hear.

Symbel is pretty cool I guess

Maybe Symbol can make a come back and break back into the scene.
I'm sure he can make something happen.

Bring on the Nydus snipes!

I'd like some insight into this as well.

I, for one, would be very happy to see Symbol return to his peak. Hopefully Afreeca is the place for doing so.

Rofl so Life decided that fucking over Afreeca was more worth being busted while on KT? No, put your tinfoil hats away. He would have just simply left the team. He was still planning on playing his Code A match at the time he was arrested.
Hope to see some good games from Symbol in proleague.

they couldnt sign Sleep so they had to go with the second least irrelevant zerg.
|
good news for Symbol but I doubt he has the potential to make Afreeca Freecs take it to the next level.
|
Good luck to Symbol! Havent heard or seen him much lately but maybe this will be his chance to flouish

It would be nice if they'd get compensation from KT for this, even though it's not their fault (and they didn't know)
Edit: But gratz to Afreeca and Symbol ofc

To me this is very good news. Hopefully Symbol can shine again and be an asset for Afreeca Freecs!

Congratulations to Symbol. Teams adding players is always a welcome sight in these lean days. Agree w/ the overwhelming consensus that this unfortunately doesn't appear to move the needle at all for AF going forward for the final round of play. Where they will probably need to get a 1st or 2nd place finish (in the R3 playoffs) just to qualify for the season-ending playoffs. After their absolutely disastrous R2.

Speculating of course but that's a very interesting theory considering they also offloaded a certain Protoss in December 2015 who was involved in one of the Pinnacle cancelled games as well and no other players on their roster have ever had any suspicion of anything.
Back on topic, i've always been a big Symbol fan and hoped he would find success on Jin Air, hopefully he can recapture some form on Afreeca
