So sad reading these tournament lists and not seeing more of my favorite Korean players like in the old days, but I'm really excited to see what the American crowd is like at DH!

who wins? Although Bly, Harstem, Drogo, Elazer etc. could always upset, should be a cool ro8!

64 players in 16 groups of 4 players each, played in a dual tournament format 32 players from the First Group Stage 32 players pre-seeded Matches are Bo3 Top 2 players of each group advance to the playoffs" 8 "qualified" players. Where do they fit in? What's the difference between 8 qualified players and 32 pre-seeded players. Yet more vagueness coming outta the DH format xD

Also my mom and mother-in-law live in San Antonio (about an hour drive from Austin) so I'll be meeting with them for Mother's Day (the Sunday of that weekend) ^_^ Should be a nice trip and Austin is a great city. Just gonna be hot... Will groups be announced soon now that the full player list is known?

Besides that - the lack of Koreans is really making the tournaments far less enjoyable. I really hope WCS will go in another direction next year. I am not sure how proplayers feel about it since there is more competetion between them and more chances to make a living but I certainly feel this cannot feel rewarding as this could as well be a Go4 or online cup.

My first thought was actually that I've watched Go4s with a stronger lineup, which is indeed kinda sad. I will still enjoy the tournament, but it will always be in the back of my mind.

Not to mention Tours is right around the corner. Hmmm, i guess pros have their reasons and logic for not coming. I'm sure those I listed (minus say Hitman and Lucifron) would be guaranteed a Ro16 or better (some money & WCS points is better than none). Oh wells, excited to see what happens!

However, generally speaking, Canada sucks at competitive Starcraft. Canadians are definitely, abso-posi-lutely better than Americans at the Single player campaign. Its a proven fact. I am not sure how proplayers feel about it since there is more competetion between them and more chances to make a living but I certainly feel this cannot feel rewarding as this could as well be a Go4 or online cup. Dreamhack used to be the top of the top, really fun, super events where you could get some really stacked events which were a blast to watch. Now, well. I guess I'll watch Proleague. Blizzard and WCS welfare supporters are a little deluded if they think that closing off open events is going to make events better. This is part of the backwards ways blizzard does things: let's make a game which is fun to watch -> so that people will watch the game instead of let's make a game which is really fun to play -> large player base -> large viewership OR let's prevent koreans from playing so foreigners can play, > people like to watch foreigners > large viewer ship instead of let's host events where player skill can really shine and show some amazing actual games > large viewership Blizzard tried to make a spectator sport instead of making an actual fun game; all their policies reflect that. It's the other way around compared to LoL, where the game is fun even if you're in Bronze. I mean, I want to cheer for Polt but he's just going to walk over everyone. What's the point

I'm guessing MaSa, Kiwikaki, NoRegreT, Scarlett, Semper or even old schoolers like Grrrr would like to have a word with you on that. Since you didn't imply you were talking about the present of SCII and not Starcraft including Broodwar and SCII since it's inception, I had to point that out. If you meant that right now there are less canadian pro players than americans that will almost always be true considering the huge difference in demographics.

This is so embarrassing as a fan of Terrans, if you aren't Korean then you simply don't have the skill to play Terran well. This is the message us foreign fans get EVERY SINGLE TOURNAMENT. Very frustrating. Why so many Zergs? Protoss? Is Terran that much harder? Apparently.

This feels like the first time in a while where Blizzard severely messed up a race's balance. There's no way any of those five are going to make it to the round of eight, except for perhaps Polt. ...coming from a P. User was warned for this post
