I think such local events are great, when there is an open bracket for local players. With a list of 16 pre-determined puppets, it's just a travelling circus ...
If they didn't do it in Asia they'd probably have had a hard time convincing KeSPA to have the Proleague round finals at the event. So there's that.
I agree an open bracket at the event would have been better than just a qualifier for China.
