Bang Tae Soo (방태수) or TRUE as most will know him has finally achieved his dream of becoming a StarCraft Champion. After winning WCS Circuit Summer in Montreal in dominating fashion. TRUE dropped 2 maps across the whole tournament en route to his first ever championship. TRUE finally received his visa meaning his only chance to make it to Blizzcon for the WCS Global playoffs was to win the remaining WCS Circuit event which gave a direct seed to the WCS finals. TRUE had already qualified for the hardest tournament in SCII, GSL Code S after defeating CJ Entus Bunny 3-2 in Code A. Upon receiving his visa TRUE dropped out of the tournament to participate in the global circuit.
this guy had 31 viewers consistently even after he got into code S (after just making it to code A and then beating Bunny 3-2). in his stream there are always pros hanging around and interacting with viewers. its a wonder why he doesnt have more. im so happy that his decision to forfeit wcs korea and come to america worked out for him. i got worried when he had an unfortunate match in HSC against scarlett whos also his practice partner and his run came short to 5th-8th place but i think he couldve have won that tournament too. despite Polt not being at his best lately, i think he was playing very well in DH yet TRUE absolutely decimated him. his style that u describe is almost like a variation of Life's and i think could propel him to beat any of the top korean pros, even ones where u describe he would have no chance against (Zest, TY, Dark). i would not say this about any other foreigner or player coming from WCS AM+EU.
great writeup
bonus: he also defeated the final boss-champaigne bottle

I've been watching SC2 for 3 years and he already acts differently than most Korean players. He had spontanity and was confident enough to joke even with choppy english. For example, when he popped the champagne, he drank a bit then said "I'm still thirsty... to win!" and no one noticed, but it was hilarious. That's stuff I want to see out of the "faceless Koreans" that too many of them never did. Also, half the Koreans that were fan favorites were specifically for this sorta stuff. That's not a coincidence.

Had you actually bothered to do some research before posting such drivel you'd realise that TRUE is far from a faceless, emotionless Korean. He's really gone out of his way to learn English and he regularly interacts with his foreign fans and stream viewers.
Back on topic, great article. After the year TRUE has had it made me super happy to see he him find success, hoping he really builds on it at BlizzCon and in 2017.

Doesn't the fact that I have to "research" somebody mean that he is nobody? Just another dog-eater that should've stayed home.
