I just wanted to provide an update on the next Homestory Cup for the international community.
There was a donation goal to pay for the trips of 5 more Koreans in addition to the Koreans TakeTV was always going to invite with their budget.
The donation goal of 5,000 Euros has been met and we are way above 6k now, with 2,385 Euros being donated during today's show so far. As a result there will be around 9 Koreans at HSC XIV!
This is amazing! I'm pretty hyped for the Kespa Cup, but pretty down about the lack of WCS players (not Kespa's fault, just logistics). Homestory is truly going to be the real deal!
The backlash for the last HSC not having koreans was very negative and discouraging. To take that backlash and actually seek to provide an international event, and to go at such lengths to do so is very very inspiring and commendable.
You and your team are fantastic bad asses who have always put on one hell of a show, but this just went the distance. I usually only watch korean streams out of habit, but I can't ignore this. I'll be tuning in.
I totally expect Maru or Reality to be the last Korean.
I guess the last korean will be a terran, naruto hinted something in that direction, or? SKT seems to be very hard to get any of their players. sOs or solar might want another guy to come with them.
Also great to see that the connection of TaKeTv/Naruto to KT is still very much working, ever since Naruto got hands on Flashs manager prior to HSC X.
I'm trying to phrase my happiness about this announcement in a way that does my inner fangirl justice but all I can come up with is squealing "Oh my god oh my god oh my god ZEST!!!" over and over and now my neighbours probably think I just orgasmed and I' not even sure they are wrong.
Also, just awesome to see so many Koreans back at HSC. Should be absolutely epic. :D
On September 23 2016 04:46 LordMorgot wrote: So those are all the koreans invited or just the ones with the donations?
5 of those invties are funded through donations, they were always going to invite around 3 Koreans though, even without donations. So all 7 are invited. The last 1 or 2 might be decided with qualfiers, not sure.
I heard Maru is lazy as F lol. So, he won't travel to far unless huge prize money is there. I really hope to see a zerg or a terran for last spot cuz too many protoss >_>. Inviting an entertaining guy like MC sounds fun too.(although I wouldn't like to listen to his singing at all ^^)
Wow, so hyped! I really don't know, which will be the most fascinating SC2 Event this year. Well, of course, BlizzCon is awesome, but that Special HSC Feeling, and with all those top Korean Players...?
What do you think?
Poll: Which SC2 event do you definitely want to watch on stream?
(Vote): BlizzCon 2016 (Vote): KeSPA Cup 2016 (Vote): HomeStoryCup XIV (Vote): WESG 2016

Awesome news! It is a shame that Blizzard does not support HSC (from what I know at least in WCS context, right?) and it is a pleasure to see that TakeTV is organizing this tournament. I follow HSC since the very beginning and I loved every single edition of it.
Ahhh, I wish we could've a HSC with Huk, Idra, Thorzain and the "good old foreigners", together with the new ones. Add some elephants to it and the Koreans that rocked StarCraft before the KeSPA switch - I'll have a nostalgiasm.
But I do, on a genuinely annoyed level, have to ask why you have more KR Protoss than T and Z combined T.T The last player should be Byun, Inno, Dark or Rogue. Not a Protoss >.>

Rogue plzzzz!!! If Maru is too cute to drink alcohol ...

HSC delivering AGAIN! Now watching a non korean tournament again since WCS changes. Could we have a donation for casters as well? I'm sure Rotti, Incontrol and a ton of european casters will be there, but I'd love to see Nate or someone else from another region. Would be great to have a caster qualifier tournament!
I mean we have the current SSL champ and maybe best zerg in the world confirmed, sure having Dark or Rogue would be cool, but Europe has us covered when it comes to great zergs and Scarlett should be there as well. So I really hope we get two more Terrans from Korea.

You must be joking!!!!! This is a dream!!!!
I want to see nobody else being a bit drunk and having fun at HomeStory cup than Rogue!!!! :-) And he will not be alone there as he will have sOs with him :-) But then, MC must get the important role of being the interpreter for all the Koreans and you definitely need to let them cast some games with MC interpreting!!!!!!
This will be the tournament of the century!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Somehow, BlizzCon is slowly moving to the second place this year ...

Solar is really good with English, I think he will be the one translating stuff actually
HSC Lineup beats every Tournament Line Up at the moment. Watching the stream and seeing how the donations fly in order to get more names out of them (and drinking shots of course) was pure fun . Had a really great time.

Nope
Because of the protoss heavy line-up or not enough invite spots?
Simply not good enough for a Korean invite in my opinion.
But foreigner invites don't need to be that good?
The foreign invites for HSC are really good. Besides that; if I can choose between someone who is funny and actually amazing and someone who isn't really a community person and average currently, I am picking the amazing player ofcourse.

Anyways gonna be there. Still confused by this statement.

He really isn't. He's never been hugely outgoing. Compare his behaviour at Dreamhacks with Solar's for example.

I see your point but if there would be enough interest in him in the community to crowdfund him specificially I think it would be worth inviting him.
Skillwise he's probably not worse than most other participants. he made Code S last season. I think I'd favor him over every foreigner not named nerchio, neeb, Snute or Showtime.
okay so... can someone enlight me as to what's the VIP lounge/area and how is it different from a normal one? are you not allow to meet with the players if you don't have access to the VIP area?

VIP area is at the venue downstairs with seats/lighting and next to the warmup of the players. You can also meet players without being VIP but you also get the benefit of softdrinks , snacks etc.

Also invite Reynor plox (and I'm not saying this because I'm italian and the last italian player at HSC was Santa ClouD )
Homestory Cup X (aka the best one) had like 12 Koreans.
I agree, since Heromarine turned 18 we've been missing out on some awkwardness, really need someone at HSC who's legally not allowed to drink.
When Incontrol visited hsc for the first time, he was super shocked you can drink a beer outside. qxc (I think) felt weird to have a beer at hsc. He was 18+ but not 21 (legal in america).

I'll translate. And when I say translate, I'll understand what he's saying then make it whatever I want to amuse myself.
