This is a very reasonable assumption. He supposedly managed some hedge funds, which is surprising in itself but not unheard of. If this is true, he would be making a very hefty paycheck. Either way, he clearly likes to present himself as having more money than he knows what do with, which is definitely pretty distasteful/nauseating.

This is such an unacceptable yet reoccurring pattern . What legal recourse do players have in these situations?

I never knew there was a name for this. My grandfather used to call that 'a rich people's head on a poor man's body' and I was fine with that.
but the urban dictionnary definition is pretty awesome.
+ Show Spoiler +A 30k millionaire does this in order to make himself look like he's somebody, but in reality, he goes home at night and jacks off, using his own tears as lube.
also, Rifkin being Rifkin I guess...

6 months ago isn't exactly recently, and he's only stating things from his experience. No reason to bring un-involved people into this.

It largely depends on the contents of their contract, if they have one written out. Even so, it might be prohibitively expensive to fight this, especially depending on the amount of money being owed.

I interpret "Choya is greedy and hard to work with" as "I am not willing to put in the business effort to make things work with choya".
Choya is a good guy, smart, professional when necessary and a very strong character. I also know that he will always fight for his team mates and friends.
Just sayin' as I don't like it when my korean mates are getting shit talked.

Isn't this guy the manager who got some upcoming rookie protoss player out of a tournament because he jokingly took a look at Harstem replays? :o

It was a zerg player but yeah pretty much.
I think we shouldn't judge rifkin and demuslim too much because their tweets are made of their own experience with choya (which might be bad ones).
And I think sebou is an ass for pulling something like this off.

At least it took 3 years to implode this time. Is this a new record yet?

The sad truth is that we've seen so many of these that we know that they won't resolve and there really is no big urge to even comment. Hence only four pages of comments.
Well, ironically I'm commenting right now, but you catch my drift.

i have never heard of this rifkin guy but he sounds like a scumbag as well, defending another scumbag while disparaging choya

This may sound outlandish, but it may be worth all players paying a small % of their winnings to an insurance pool for just such occasions.
No single player/small group could fight this, but ALL pro-players are threatened by this type of behavior, since very few are independent wealthy.

Thats called a union. But i guess it works both ways. We also have alot of unprofessional players. Will they get fined for bm, or not showing up to tournaments?
