So Fast Lane Day 2 is the 2 losers from Fast Lane Day 1, plus Rank 8 from Premier and Rank 4 from Challenger. And really only the fast lane format is confusing, everything else is just round robin. And yeah someone who didn't qualify for either can't win the next SSL, but that was true of GSL when it ran Code S and A simultaneously.

I agree with the predictions except I think it'll be 2-0 for ByuL and 2-1 for Zest.

You might have people in desperate need for a win playing people who don't have any chance of anything anymore

You might have people in desperate need for a win playing people who don't have any chance of anything anymore They have some things to try to keep that in check. Firstly, the whole relegation system making sure you have incentive to try to get 8th instead of 9th or 10th etc. And secondly, there's money on the line for every match. ~700$ for 2-0, ~620$ for 2-1, ~265$ for 1-2, ~175$ for 0-2. So you're incentivized to keep winning.
