With two weeks of SSL Challenge already in the books, the players gathered for what was the penultimate match of their first stage campaign for many.
soO held Bunny’s initial hellbats, but Bunny transitioned into bio/tank, ending the game with a push on soO’s fourth. After evening the series with convincing ling/bane/muta play, soO had to play from behind against mech. Unable to overcome early losses, he dropped the match 2-1.
After being pulled apart by Impact in a lengthy roach vs roach affair, Rogue won the next two in expedient fashion. He tied the series by drone scouting and defending Impact's early pool and picked up his first win of Challenge by catching Impact off guard with pooled speedlings.
sOs and jjakji needed a full three games to decide the winner in an unnerving series featuring pylon rushes, proxies, both oracles and cyclones, as well as low ground bunkers for defenses and a final tank push that gave jjakji the 2-1 win.
Hush’s game one timing caught Zest before his dark shrine had finished, but his attempt to close out the series with a four gate blink build did not pan out. Zest brought the series to a close by picking apart Hush in the late game before defending Hush’s last ditch attack.

Thanks for the recap! I couldn't watch live because of WCS

Thx for update! Was watching WCS.

The first game of soO vs Bunny was a bio/tank push, not mine play.

tried to watch WCS and this at the same time. jjakji vs sOs was great memes and I enjoyed Hush vs Zest, although I missed the end of g3. soO vs Bunny is dispensable I guess, and I didn't watch Impact vs Rogue (zvz...).

I deleted tank and wrote mine in the final edit. I guess that's what happens when you are recapping two tournaments at once

One at a time Zest, one at a time. Hopefully he can build off this win and get back to his old form.

Zest won a series o.O
Haven't seen that in quite awhile.

I was surprised by several of these outcomes, but Zest's win and Bunny's win were somewhat astonishing.
