Many have probably seen this coming, but it has now been officially confirmed live on stream. MMA joins his old friends from Team Acer on Team Expert!
You can still watch MMA play some games and cook from the Team Expert team house in Bad Tölz, Germany right now on https://twitch.tv/expertesport.
MMA will also be playing at HSC XVI, wearing Team Expert colours, and make his return to the pro scene just weeks after finishing his military service.

The quality is even worse than blizzcons stream

How can he play in the HSC XVI if all there are no open slots. He'll have someone to quit to have a chance.

If I check the liquipedia check there are 32 players there. If so the page isn't accurate...

Ignore the 25 invited and 7 qualified part.

There are 2 spots for the NA/SEA qualifier, which hasn't played yet. But there are 25 invited.
Do you think they will cut the qualifier or a spot of it so that MMA will play there?

Do you think they will cut the qualifier or a spot of it so that MMA will play there? NA qualifier was canceled afaik, had only 5 signups or something like that.

...no official statement has been released for NA qualifier, despite me asking here and there, that's why LP page is still like that...

Naturo said it on his Twitter during the qualifier.

Does this mean MMA on EU next year for WCS ?
|
If so how should we call him or did we already give MMA an European name? I forget
|
Honestly I think he will play GSL/SSL.

He can play both right ? the restriction is only for EU or NA, he needs to have a working visa or something. So if he plays EU, I think he will play GSL and SSL too. Like some foreigners tried this year

Edit: Although Koreans like TRUE and MMA have to live outside of Korea when they want to play WCS tournaments. They can't spend too much time in Korea. It's unfair compared to foreigners who are allowed to live in Korea, play GSL/SSL and still compete in the WCS Circuit, but those are the rules afaik.
|
You must live or at least stay in KR if you want to play in the GSL. Don't know about the SSL (the rules there keep changing).

Both GSL and SSL are all offline events in KR including their qualifiers. You must be physically in Seoul those days to play. Other than that, you can stay wherever you want. Just need to show up to your matches. They have games every week so if you are super rich, you can fly back and forth between your home country and Korea weekly. :D
I hope MMA will remain in Korea but at the same time if he plays WCS Circuit, we can have a great Terran to watch!

I would be happy either way, it would be nice to have another good Terran in the WCS Circuit now that Polt is gone

This is so exciting! Yessssss
|
Can this be the beginning of the return of all the old-timers now? Please?
|
Was contemplating stopping to follow the sc2 scene altogether after Blizzcon to be honest. But MMA being back, now that's exciting.
|
Hopefully he will be back in some good form and we can get the old MMA chants going!

Yeaaaa, sounds reasonable to stop following sc2 scene with 20k of posts
It didn't happened before (during blord/festor era) and it won't happen at all :D

MMA back to defend his title!
|
Really glad to see MMA is back. His HSC victory was so incredibly badass, it is great he is getting an encore.
|
|
This is awesome! So glad to see him back!
|
Hur-r-ay! MMA!
It's good he'll be playing in the WCS EU system so that he has time to reform his level of play after the military break instead of bashing against the wall that is in-form Terrans in WCS KR. Mirror matchup is always the hardest to recover the groove.
|
|
Awesome to see MMA back and with his old Acer buddies (so to speak). I hope he can put up some strong results.
|
What fantastic news. MMA has been greatly missed.
|
That's really great. Normally this time of the year was the time of bad news but that's not the case this year at all
|
Excited to have MMA back in the SC2 scene! Will definitely watch his games at HSC XVI.

I am reading out of this that while two people signed in, nobody was in the channel so the qualifier was not played do to no showups.
The player who is here saying he was there seems to accept this fate (expensive travel) and that should be it about the NA qualifier.

The bracket.

...thanks, I'll fix the page regarding the NA qualis even if I'd wait for the last player announcement since it seems kinda unclear... ...I think they will announce the groups in a few days so we'll see what happened...
