You should look at the CS:GO schedule then.

Absolutely embarassing to announce the qualifiers 1 week before they start.
This is nothing new, how can they not learn anything after all those years?

Very poor scheduling. Also this EU/AM online qualifier is at the same time as the IEM south america and central europe qualifiers.

lol can't even buy advanced tickets to see star wars without a major tournament popping up with 1 week notice and making you miss your show

You'd think with 3 organizations (WCS, IEM, and WESG) still running SC2 events that they'd find some way to organize. IEM is immediately after the WESG NA qualifiers, so players like Neeb are going to have to choose one, and the IEM and WCS qualifiers overlap with each other. This would be somewhat acceptable when there were tournaments every weekend, but with the game in its diminished state organizers need to communicate to prevent conflicts like this from happening time and time again.

Still only $10,000 for the Challenger pot. Sad to see the semi-pro scene still being neglected. We need a $700,000 Blizzcon prize pool for show but viability is not needed for pros /s

Did they like plan this yesterday? Not only the short notice but so many conflicting dates. Blizzard dropping the ball again.

Blizzard adds a new event and all you see from the community is complaints lol. Literally the same as it was 7 years ago.

At least the qualifier format should cause less complaints.

Wait, what the fuck? Am I reading correctly that there’s a WCS event in JANUARY that just got announced, and the qualifiers are before the balance patch?

scheduling of this is far from ideal - but as is life in total... I'm quite sure, they didn't do this short term scheduling for purpose or to annoy the players and viewers. If they had other viable options for scheduling, it's in the organizers own interest to do so.
So instead of blaming the organizers and complaining about unlucky schedules, I'm just pleased, there is a great tournament in early 2018.
Good job WCS and DH in setting up that event - and hopefully you will do more consistent planning in the future

They've rescheduled the qualifiers, they're in January now

Awesome, it's nice that they reacted.

I mean, I guess that's better, but now the non-EU people who qualify will get 2.5 weeks notice of a 6 day trip to Europe. Kinda crazy still imo.
Not sure when DH Leipzig '18 was first announced, but I know no later than June 20 from this announcement. At what point was it decided it was gonna be a WCS event? If it was known privately for a long time, why wait so long to announce it publicly? If it wasn't decided until very recently, how is it these things still take until the latest feasible moments to finalize, when people have been doing this for so many years now? Honestly just curious about these things. The people inconvenienced by these organizers/planners deserve an explanation, out of basic host-guest etiquette and also out of professional courtesy and respect.

I can accept the notice is rather short but as a spectator/SC2 fan I'm just happy to see it announced and look forward to watching.
I'm also happy the qualifiers have been delayed as I find Terran to be the most entertaining race to watch and I was worried none of them would qualify (I suppose the new patch would have come in before the qualifiers anyway though).

Dreamhack Leipzig confirmed to be played on the map pool that will be added to ladder three days prior to the event. Scheduling's been really awful this year round.

I swear they're trying really hard to f*ck up this event as much as possible
