GamersOrigin is proud to welcome Ilyes “Stephano” Satouri as it very first Starcraft II player. The french-tunisian is known as one of the best non-korean players of SC2 history.
With his 8 victories in major tournaments, he his indubitably one of the most famous person in french esport, thanks to his incredible achievements.
Stephano started his career on Warcraft III, then he moved to Wings of Liberty at its launch, in 2011. He shined in weekly and monthly tournaments, while managing to achieve good performances in LAN. He found success very fast : Ilyes Satouri started his reign on the french and european scene.
The Zerg player played for Millenium, Meltdown and Evil Geniuses, and he trusted the top of the ladder during his first years. His most famous victory was against VortiX in 2012 when he became the new european champion.
He recently qualified for IEM Season XII at PyeongChang, South-Korea. The tournament will be held in February 2018 with the support of the International Olympic Committee, with a 150 000$ cash-prize.
Stephano’s arrival allows GamersOrigin to enter an eSport founding scene, which took part in the expansion of eSport for many years. Rigour and intelligence needed to perform at the top level of the game make Starcraft II a tough game to master. However the game has a huge and loyal fanbase.
Stephano is known all over the world as one of the best non-Korean SC2 player, thanks to his talent and his titles. He is one of the best french esport player across all games.
GamersOrigin will provide him everything he needs to shine in his next tournaments.
We are very proud to welcome Stephano in our club, he is talented and motivated and he will surely represent France very well.
With the growth of the eSport club, we really wanted to enter the Starcraft scene, because the game has done a lot for eSport in the past years and it will continue to do so. We will do our best to ensure Stephano the best conditions to perform at an international level. The family grows, and it is just a beginning !

It is a true pleasure to join GamersOrigin, where I have plenty of friends. The club is a strong one, which can help me give my very best in tournaments. I will now focus more than ever on my training in order to win the first trophy of GO SC2’s division!
Stephano
This arrival and the incoming events that come with it make an amazing start for GamersOrigin 2018 season. Thank you for your support! #GOWIN

Is Stephano still a pro player or this something he does while he is getting his degree?
|
Looks like a meltdown of the Meltdown team.
|
Is he coming back to the pro scene?
|
How does he keep getting these sponsors when he barely ever plays in anything?
Guess it pays off to have a personality
|
Best French-African-Middle Eastern-American player in the world!

I dont know why people say he doesn't play in anything when in fact he does play in a lot. He is also one of the biggest SC2 streamers out there and streams almost daily.

Guess it pays off to have a personality I dont know why people say he doesn't play in anything when in fact he does play in a lot. He is also one of the biggest SC2 streamers out there and streams almost daily. Different timezones and people have jobs. Therefore between the timezone difference and time they're not at home? Pretty easy to miss a streamer even if they go for 6+ hours
It's pretty easy to see why if you think about it a little.
|
Well, it´s pretty easy to miss a streamer, yah, but when i complain about someone not participating in anything when in reality that someone does participate in quite some tournaments, then maybe i should have done my homework before asking
|
Good news ! We need a GO flair then
|
|
Pretty good! I mean he played in most of the premier tournaments this year and got a bit of extra cash that way, so it makes sense for a french team to pick him up.
|
Nice to see Steph still involved in SC2 :D ! Always a pleasure to watch him. And he seems more motivated than ever! Let see what happen !
|
Contgrats hope you will do the best you can with gamers origins

Congrats to Stephano, cool to see him making a comeback to the scene, he is a great player!
|
is Stephano still playing?

"I will now focus more than ever on my training in order to win the first trophy of GO SC2’s division!"
I have always been on a Stephano fan and will of course root for him on G.O., but could this comment actually be serious <will now focus more than ever on training>? If yes, I'd love to see a new complete beast-mode Stephano take over.
|
What happened to metldown ? Is this a return to the pro-scene or just a partnership for a few events ? (like the one for blizzcon with all the koreans?)
Thanks for the info, but it's very sad to see these two questions of the uttermost importance weren't answered already.
also : http://gamersorigin.com/fr/team/starcraft-ii/ this is not the team's achievements, this is stephano's achievements. Looks weird to grab all his title under your name just because you signed him.

Glad to see not only a great french player but also a zerg legend make a comeback. Bonne chance!
