Rogue is a monster offline...but online...he isn't.
|
I see the inconsistencies from Rogue. Sometimes he is damn good, sometimes he is below the par. Some spectators always underestimate him based on his recent performances.
|
A zerg made it into the playoffs? Buff terran!
|
Kinda sad to see Dark not advancing again but hopefully this will give him some idea that he needs to improve on his ZvZ and mentality.

I just wish INnoVation didn't waste his first game against rogue doing a totally off cheese that made no sense, especially after how easily he beat him in game 2. Sigh...now his only hope of going to blizzcon rests on him winning the next super tournament and praying TY, Trap, Gumiho and sOs don't make deep runs in GSL and in the super tournament 2.
|
Never bet against Rogue he is the favourite to win every tournament and he would have won the last GSL if 1 game switched between him and Maru. He is the double world champion for a reason. Gumiho is also very underrated and is probably the 2nd/3rd best Terran this year with TY.

Playing the way he is Inno has no right to be at Blizzcon coming through the GSL side anyway.

Welp, this is officially the worst GSL season ever for me. Classic and soO get eliminated in the Ro32, and Dark and INnoVation go out in the Ro16. I don't care about any of the players left in this GSL anymore...

Not a good day for SKT fans
|
i guess rouge will be the only zerg in the ro8 again, like last season... or am i underestimating leenock?
|
Gumiho's terran is so interesting to watch. We'll have to see how Maru adapts in ro8. It's hard to judge Maru in this moment when he hasn't played a super tryhard game against a strong opponent in so long. Gumiho looks strong.

Sympathize strongly with this. TY is probably the only other player that I would cheer for other than the SKT gang. Was never a Maru fan either but really enjoyed watching his games before for his strong playstyle, but the new Maru playstyle is a lot less fun to watch.
Sad day for us

Which of the best players doesn't fit this description? All of them do. Every player whose ever been "damn good" doesn't stay so forever. Innovation, soO, sOs, Classic, TY, Maru, Zest... the list never ends. Because it's so difficult to stay damn good for longer periods of time.

I'd say Best gsl season Ever...
all the qualified players have interesting playstyles and are currently arguably among the absolute top of their races.
Except for Neeb maybe, but he at least looked very strong vs zerg

All games were bad today. Not a single super macrohardcore TvZ... Rogue and Gumiho were just slightly better Happy for Gumi to advance, I think he can beat Maru

I feel this way basically every GSL, where all the interesting players are eliminated early and it's the same gang of boring standard styles for the last few rounds.
We've had enough tournaments over the past few years which has a final eight with some combination of Innovation, Stats, Classic, SoO, Dark, Zest, Maru, and TY.
Much as I like most of those players, it's nice to get more diversity and to see different stories told.
|
Happy for the two advancing players but I felt like all 4 of them could have made it to Ro8 had they been in other groups, but that's the way she goes. Hope Rogue is able to pull through all the way to the finals!
|
Gumiho is (in my humble opinion) the most intelligent, dynamic and creative SC2 player of all time. I feel like he gets so drastically underestimated because as a person he doesn't have the allure of Innovation or TY. His builds are so unique and funky. I love watching him so much. I think he is the main reason I stuck around with SC2.

I feel like when (for example) INnoVation hit his previous peaks, he was consistent for a good stretch of time before he fell off and had to claw his way back again. Whereas with Rogue, it seems like he flops back and forth in form radically in relatively short timespans, and hasn't had a very long period of looking dominant. This is subjective on my part, though. I'm open to being corrected by data. Even Maru is a bit different right now, IMO, because it feels like he knows when to rest, rather than just coming to the top and burning out.

Well, of course, nothing lasts forever, but this year Rogue has been fluctuating back and forth to the extent that you generally don't see from a lot of players.
GSL s1: Out in the ro32
IEM WC: 1st
GSL ST 1: Out in the first round
GSL s2: ro8 and almost beat Maru
GSL vs The World: out in the first round
GSL s3: Currently ro8 and with the way things are looking, could easily go to the finals (especially if he gets herO in the semis)

happy for GuMiho to advance. He's one of my favorites to watch coz his games are never boring. That and he's on our team but that's probably why.

Good one. You pondered it well. I predict Rogue will not do good in GSL Super tournament II as well.

Innovation out in season 3? What is this?!

The last hope of Terran:2rax mech and SCV all-in. Flash's last word:If you can't win in macro, just let them eat your drill.

Yeah I think Maru has matured a lot, he plays more solid styles if that's needed to win instead of looking good, and he knows when to practice the most or not to allow for a high number of victories.

Bad bracket luck for Inno. The best ZvTer in the world followed by the best TvTer in the world. WP Gumi. Serves Dark right for picking him.

Dark

If Dark wouldn't fuck up the group selection every time he would have more second places than soO.

He seems more consistent, but time will tell.

Well 2rax seems like the most solid build in TvZ.

there were some silly games in this group

Lol poor Serral. His legendary run is now officially "beat two ro16 dropouts".

To be honest, games in Group A were more interesting and unpredictable. All of the players in Group B did not show their top level, may be except Gumi who was really impressive! Even the way he lost to TY last season on the semifinal showed that Gumiho is back. I am really dissapointed for Dark and his mentality. This long waiting for him and TY getting a GSL title is a real nightmare I guess not only for me but for all of their fans. Yeah, TY is not out yet, but I'm losing any hopes. If TY can't make it, at least I hope to see no terran wins the GSL because I'm tired by terrans. I guess only Stats can stay positive and successful at least to the final.

Apart from the Reynor vs Classic series not really memorable games in this season yet. In the Ro8 gumi vs maru and neeb vs rogue will look much better (but potentially, they could be very one-sided). Now, in group C what will be interesting is to see if herO is on top form. My guess is that probably Zest and herO will advance whereas in group D I'm really expecting TY and Stats to survive.

GUMIGOD STOMP INNOVATION FUCK YEAH!!!!
soo is gone but i can still cheer gumigod
