Also include Neeb, Maru, and Serral (let's hope Serral agrees this time, socializing is good for Serral sometimes) and hopefully they agree.

There should be 12 tournaments per year (one per month), all held in major cities (3 in KR, 3 in NA, 3 in EU, and 3 in random places like Shanghai, Mexico City, etc.) and open to everyone. The qualifiers would all be online qualifiers and would be split by timezone for server, but also open to everyone in each server who wants to try. Only the 1st and 2nd places from all 12 tournaments are invited to Blizzcon. Nobody else, and no WCS points. Blizzcon is not high-money but actually low prize pool, with the 12 tourneys taking the big chunk. Blizzcon is instead to batttle it out between the victors. This is my idea, but it's just an example. Why not reimagine the future?

Do you think tier level should be changed from Major to Premier here? It's $20k prizepool again offline with Koreans and Serral, just like HSC 16 which is Premier.

8000 4000 2000 2000 1000 1000 1000 1000 -------------- We will be using 8 man groups / Round Robin. We will have a statement about it on why no GSL / why RR - as well as how we will run the show compared to last time. Roughly: we will have commercial breaks and promotional stuff due to partners which we would like to present well but we also did not want to go the GSL system route (easier to schedule, especially breaks) which will lead to people having to watch some games at community streams etc , but overall we thought this is a lot better.

His goal is definitely to get to BlizzCon next year and do well in GSL. But it has just been a month or two and he obviously isn't there yet. Still he is looking surprisingly good with 6,6K MMR on Korea. Obviously he won't beat Serral here, but I don't think that's his goal either. Wouldn't be suprised to see him in the top8 though, which would be quite the achievement imo.

Also I really approve of the format. It mixes things up from how pretty much every tournament is, and the huge championship bracket reminds me of the old 2011 MLG days. I'm sure the players love it as well because it will give everyone opportunity to play many many series. I also agree Solar should be invited to every HSC. He seems like just such an awesome dude.

ej knows better than to think jokes are obvious in text, but there's also no point in provoking him. can we just be nice to each other? back on topic, taeja recently went 5-4 against parting, which isn't an amazing result as parting isn't considered top tier right now. however taeja is a very smart and experienced player and the fact that he regained form that quickly after retirement is pretty impressive. he might show up to HSC in good form

I think he can beat a lot of the foreigners here based on what I've seen from him so far, in fact he might not even be the weakest Korean in attendance. He's had a decent 2018 given the circumstances

A statement for the upcoming HomeStory Cup and tournamnet system as well as the rundown of show. People are used to us going really game - heavy and have only casual breaks from time to time. This time to have a good production and visibility for our partners we have decided to keep the conferencing of games to a minimum. We will select 10 games over two groups to implement promotion and side content to bring back the old flair of HSC. While we all love games and esport we trust that across two english streams, two russian streams, a german stream, a french stream, a polish stream, a korean stream and several other streams there will be more than enough content and games featured. We decided to post a statement which we will also include in the survial guide to bring the awareness to people that providing a good show to you is just as important as to create a good product for our partners potentially and hopefully resulting in longer partnerships and more HSCs. Thank you <3

If I get it correctly the main stream is gonna have "only" 10 series in the group stage to make more time for sponsor promotion, add brakes, and other side content (I'm guessing interviews, games ect...). But the other stream (english B stream and foreign streams) will still be able to run like they want. So I'm guessing it's gonna be more of a Dreamhack group stage kind of setting (but with better off game banters )

They run Group 3 and 4 (8+8 players) on day two and show a total of 10 games on the main stream during that. You can always watch the 2nd stream or another language stream where more games are shown. I understand that decision, but I hope this does not lead to a "wow, this Bo3 by Serral against Nonamer was finished in 15 Minutes, now we sadly have to wait 45 minutes till the next game, now please watch this countdown with some sponsor logos for the next 45 minutes". I can understand "sponsor messages", casual content and all over some games, but when they ever pop up a more then 2 minutes load screen instead of showing one of the 1000 games that are running... I'd be slighly mad/sad.

I can understand "sponsor messages", casual content and all over some games, but when they ever pop up a more then 2 minutes load screen instead of showing one of the 1000 games that are running... I'd be slighly mad/sad. We have planned to show 10x bo3 instead of 14x bo3. And yes - when we finish a series we picked within our usual timeframe and after that frame is a promotional slot - we will show that regardless if a game is running at the same time or not. Its probably possible to watch that on another stream. Round Robin is simply not possible to run (8 man groups x2) within a 12 hour period if you want to have fixed promotional slots. If you want to have a fixed promo slot that would mean: Run first round of RR system (4x bo3) Promo Run second round of RR system (4x bo3) Promo and so on. That means every bo3 round is as long as the LONGEST bo3. We play on accelerated schedule so when a match is finished, that player can instantly play a match vs any available opponent. This allows us to be quicker with the RR system and still run it. This also generates barely any breaks / moments where no game is going on thus: we have to run a commercial over some games > thus community streams/b-stream etcp p

Looking back, I realize that for this whole year I basically kept saying that Serral is only top 10, then I had to say he was top 7, then top 5, then top 3 and now I must concede that he legitimately is the best player in the world at this moment. I still hope INnoVation will beat him in the final somehow but his TvZ is so bad nowadays.

Even when Dark was ahead, Serral still managed to claw his way back and win due to superior micro and engagements. Not only that, Serral dismantled Rogue in a lategame ZvZ through superior control and efficiency. His 6-1 score vs Rogue and Dark is a testament to his ZvZ prowess. SoO may have been better before, but at his current form he's worse than Dark and Rogue, both of whom were dismantled by Serral. SoO 's lategame isn't as refined as Rogue nor is it as scrappy as Dark, and his strong point is his early to mid game, but I don't think he can beat Serral even in those phases. If they run into each other, I think it'll either be a 3-0 or 3-1 in Serral's favor.

There is nothing wrong with it but we don't want to do the same mistake as a lot of other competitions and be very top heavy so this will be the split. 1. 8000 2. 4000 3. 3000 4. 1500 5. 1000 6. 1000 7. 750 8. 750 ---- This also justifies coming from Korea even if you would "only" make it to top 6.

O.o 3 games from Taeja, but not Taeja vs Zest? o.O Maybe it's just me but I feel like Serral and Taeja have the biggest fanbase, from a marketing point of view. Moar ppl to look at those juicy Ads No matter what direction I would go and choose in terms of games (Naruto here) there would also be one or another fan base disappointed. Thats why we do have Rifkin with BasetradeTV and we have the casters join a 2nd game. Yet as I mentioned before we do have to promote the partners thus cannot make it happen to run all games. Also we want to be able to do first person of every match we show so that goes into account as well. I don't think people will be disappointed^_^
