Not many casual BW players know about maps like Lost Temple. Expect to see more BGH type maps in SC2 team games.

First you make the units, abilities etc, try and balance it for most maps, only after quite a while of playing post actual release will we have an answer to what truly holds as far as balance. Limiting the game to only certain maps from a design perspective is the wrong approach imo. Edit: Unless you mean the starting positions, and the fact that they weren't symmetrical. Then, yes and no. Different starting positions give more options, but imbalances the map of course. The most popular maps (arguably) were asymmetrical.

The most popular maps (arguably) were asymmetrical. yeah i meant the maps symatry =] they dont necessarily have to be asymmetrical to the T, but it's nice to not join a ffa or 2v2v2v2 huntz game for fun and realize youre the asshole who's stuck at 12 spot with your nat cut off lol. or the fun nats that lack gas >_<. like id really like to see a bunch of GOOD maps that come with the game that are pretty balanced and standard. like some of the maps that shipped with the game are kinda cool, but some of the retarded mineral formations and stuff ruin it. (actually i think bwmn makers had a pimp your map contest with a lot of these maps and they turned out cool) it would be nice to see a bunch of pro-standard maps (9 mineral + gas, etc etc)
