EG I play in LA server with the NA client. I play in the PT-br language. When I know there is a patch, I localize the client back to NA, then delete all the PT-br files (just search the directory for the files). No need to install the whole game again.
If you don't want to do this, just keep a backup game install in a external drive. So if I have an NA client, use the Client Relocalizer to play on EU, then want to update on NA to 1.3 then I: 1. Relocalize to NA from EU 2. Go to my SC2 folder (probably Program Files -> Starcraft II) 3. Delete any and all files that have EU in them (e.g. anything with "enGB" in the file name) 4. Update my SC2 via the NA client So far it hasn't worked, or maybe I haven't deleted them all. I've purged all files with "enGB" in the file name except for the "GSCRelocalizer-v0.11" folder itself. Am I doing this right? Why are you not making two separate installations? I always copy paste my sc2 folder to another location so that I always have the backup ready, or if I want to login to my original server. Imo you should do a quick reinstall, copy paste the folder so that you don't need to keep relocalizing back and then patch.
Rarely any people will save a backup for sc2 because it takes so many spaces in your hard drive enough that it is not worth it to have a backup ready every patch.
Edit: Does anyone know the link for manual download link for 1.3?
Edit: Can you make your program where we don't have to go through all these trouble? T_T

Is there a problem with this and 1.3? I try to relocalize from EU to NA, then when I patch, I get an error

Rarely? most people actually do this lol. 7GB is nothing in this day and age. It saves you so much trouble too.
And about your question, what client do you use?

So can you only download a new patch from your original localization? I'm originally enGB, which unfortunately doesn't have 1.3 yet. Switching over to enUS and trying to get the 1.3 patch there gives me MD5 checksum errors. Do I just need to wait till I can get 1.3 on enGB before I can play on enUS?
|
This problem is because when install the relocalizer, it change the GameStrings.txt for the language that you relocalize.
Ex: I have the Client LA and play Server NA, when I installed relocalizer, it change my enUS.SC2Data\GameStrings.txt for portuguese. Look, pay attention, "enUS" !
So, for me, i think that I need the original GameStrings in english to resolve my problem.
And I think this is for all. If Someone have the gameString in english, post here, please! And if someone to need my help, call me!

This is correct. You must wait until your original client patches and then use the relocalizer.

I'm just going to go ahead and reinstall which only takes 80min but its too much of a hassle to do this every patch.

I had problem with the gamestrings.txt file this time. I've been doing the original localization of the client since patch 1.1 and it always worked, but now it's not going. bleh. Just keep a not localized install of the game in a back up drive, I think it's the best you can do.

I ran 0.11 in a clean install of 1.3 and it does not work. I can confirm that. You'll get a black screen when I open the client and it crashes after that.
We have to wait for the next version.
@pedrotrv any luck this time in relocalizing? I'd love to hear some good news now =)

With all due respect, you need to read the thread. There's people discussing it all over the place, one page behind us now.
Only girlscout can save us now T_T He will descent from the skies with his awesome piece of software and release me from the pain of using portuguese voices and names D:

Is there anyone using this with success AFTER reinstalling the game. IE: Is it safe to use the relocalizer to switch from US to Europe after i have fully reinstalled.

I said that it doesn't and it is on the last page of the thread.

Wow, things are getting tense on this thread. I guess we need our SC2 fix. Anyways, I play the enUS version of SC2 on the LA servers. I did a clean full install and patched to version 1.3. Then I tried the V0.11 of the relocalizer to go from enUS to esMX. This allowed me to start SC2 and attempt a login where I get the infamous message, "Language Pack Required ....". I tried this 2 times with a clean install to verify. I also tried on a clean install enUS to ptBR. With this install, SC2 started up then went to a black screen after a few seconds and auto closed.
My many pre thanks to Girlscout Cookie for taking time to work on a new patch. My many "WTF"s to Blizzard for handicapping an obviously needed and seemingly stupid not to include feature to allow whatever language version to be used on whatever server. HUH?
BTW, I was backing up all the patches and torrent patch downloads and doing full reinstalls (the relocalize back to original and delete the esMX files only really worked once for me, it was never reliable). However, I am now backing up the full program files install directory before using the relocalizer. (awesome idea! thanks for posting that) And if you don't have an extra 10GB of harddrive space (REALLY?!), external or whatever laying around all I can say is remove some of your old porn to free up some space.

I guess we'll not play SC2 so soon. =( Just waiting. ;x

Because I hate having to depend on others - and of course, girlscoutcookie is under NO obligation whatsoever to work on this diligently - I will just get the US CD from a friend to install the game that way and avoid myself these headaches.
I SWEAR, IT'S LIKE GOING COLD TURKEY
