You need the language file downloaded and in your sc2 support folder. You can find links to these on the first post of this thread in a spoiler under the first step. Then you need the relocalizer from step 2 and when you run it, the first choice (source language) you enter the language you want (and have downloaded) and the 2nd choice (target) is the server you are playing in. It does explain it pretty well but take the time to read it slow...also it's not that specific on where to put the language installer torrent.

I have an EU and a Chinese client (and accounts for both) and I tried this tool to change my Chinese client to English (I live in Beijing). The process went as described, and while it seems that some of the Chinese client had indeed been turned to English, I could not log in with my Chinese account. I could however, log in to the Chinese client with my EU account. So I went back to the localizer and undid the damage, everything seemed ok. I played some 1v1 on my Chinese account, then logged in to my Euro account to play some macro or die maps. After this I went back to my Chinese account to get my friend code for someone and I could no longer log in. It said I need the correct language pack ( in Chinese), I tried the localizer again but to no avail. Now the next bit might be part of my problem or it could be an unlucky co-incidence- a patch update seemed to start, it was for 1.3.4 which I thought China was already on but I could be wrong. At the end of the the update it said it could not install "BattleStyles.css" and that I should run the repair tool if the problem persists. Well the problem persists and I am currently running the tool. Sorry if this issue was already covered but 58 pages is a lot of reading.

I'm reinstalling. Glad I kept that Chinese client installer, would be a pain in the ass to DL it again. I need to improve my Chinese reading abilities anyway, and it's not like the language makes a difference during a match (even hotkeys are the same) but it can be a pain to config a custom game. EDIT: Update, working again after reinstall.

Good for you If you want to try it again follow the steps from the OP next time. If you want to use language X on account Y you have to relocalize a client X to Y. You wanted to use language X on account Y and relocalized a client Y to X.

Is this a common error among those who don't follow the OP? I think I followed it to the letter, perhaps I am mistaken. Let me spell out what I did and you can pinpoint the mistake I made: 1. Select :"Relocalize a local" 2. I chose 136 (zhCN) as the source language. 3. I chose 127 (enGB) as the target language. Are you saying I had my languages reversed? Thanks in advance.

I think you can use option 2 of the relocalizer (switch between installed locales) for this. Never tried it though, but I think it is the intended way of doing it On July 11 2011 00:02 Ois wrote: Sorry I don't follow, Is this a common error among those who don't follow the OP? I chose 136 (zhCN) as the source language. 3. I chose 127 (enGB) as the target language. Are you saying I had my languages reversed? Thanks in advance. Basically - yes (dont know if the op is badly worded / confusing) The Chinese client has the Chinese language files. The English client has the English language files. Client X has the X language files. So if you want to play with language X you need client X since only that client has the language. But, in a nutshell, client X is only connecting to server X. So Chinese clients only connect to the Chinese server. Here is where the relocalizer steps in - he tells the client to connect to another server (which is not X). It doesnt tell your client to download another language pack. So say you want to play on the Chinese server with English language. You need the English client (since only it has the English language files) and relocalize it to connect to the Chinese server. So your source would be English. And your target Chinese. If you want to use Chinese language on the English servers: You need the Chinese client and reloclize it to connect to the English server. Source = Chinese, target = English.

Will try again later. EDIT. Just tried it. Works quite well. Chinese info in the results graphs appears as blank, and some of the custom settings (and obviously maps)are still Chinese. (I'm sure you're all already aware of this, just pointing it out.) Everything else is in English. Great job OP!, this is much more convenient . Thanks to Zocat also.

Log in there and you should find it. My EU key gives me access to all the EU language clients afaik. No relocalization required.

Im hesitant, so just going to use it on my EU/TW accounts, not on my US account.. that means I have two clients (US and EU) and the EU one is set up with the relocalizer to switch to TW, but my US client stays clean. it'd suck to lose my EU/TW account though =[

Then you could either use the relocalizer with your current client or DL the Korean client. Afaik though, you may need your account activated in Korea or something like that, and it's possible you'd need Korean ID to sign-up for an account. Not sure. I needed to use my wife's (Chinese) ID to sign up for an account on the Chinese servers, annoying.
