I haven't slept much. Hopefully i cleaned that up.
The G402 looks like a great mouse, it uses the same sensor as the G100s because that's a very responsive and accurate sensor on par with the MLT04 that some swear by. It's loaded with an processor which boosted that sensor to work properly at 1000hz and up to 2000cpi. The G100s was limited to a sub 1000cpi and 500hz.
And they fixed the main problem with that sensor which is a low max speed by having an accel/gyro take over for a split second at high speeds.
Seems like a great mouse for those who feel the smoothing of a 3310 mouse. But don't necessarily want a 3050 or 3090 mice due to various reasons, who usually ended up with a MLT04 mouse which was limited in many aspects but accurate and responsive.
Btw the AM010 is not related to the A3055/A3050 people assume this because the G100 was A3055 and the G100s is AM010, but they are different arch not just a variation of the 3050.

Sounds good to me! Honestly people playing FPS have far different concerns for mouse than those playing osu/sc2/league etc. The sensitivity ranges, max tracking speeds and other stuff are just completely different. The gyroscope thing might not work good for FPS players (really no idea, it might do) but it shouldn't be an issue for other types of games. If it is bad, then 3090/3310/g502thing is go-to i guess for FPS players who need 2.5-5m/s

It seems like the Gyro/Accell works flawlessly, the mouse has less acceleration than a G400s. All mice except the 3366 have some acceleration at certain speeds but it's consistent which is the acceptable kind as you can train yourself to it or never notice it as you don't flick fast enough.
The hand off between the sensor and the Gyro works in less than 1ms and the tracking seems to be accurate so i guess it worked out for them. Pretty sure this would be impossible to do well without the processor in the mouse.
Still the 3366 is king no matter what, that sensor is so flawless logitech if they control some of the rights to it with pixart should just sell it to other companies for the royalties. As i doubt the 3366 will make it into any other mouse from logitech anytime soon.
It does look like they have another mouse the G302 lined up and a keyboard G910 but nothing above the G502 on the horizon.

Holy hell, thanks to that recommendation you made like 20 pages ago I got the Mionix Avior, Cyro and it's a damn awesome mouse. Cheers! :3
I got a really weird issue tho. Every couple of minutes my mouse just... stops working for 2-3s. Games/Videos just keep going without any lag. I actually had the same issue with my old one but assumed it was just dieing on me / was being cheap. It happens no matter what I'm doing (Desktop, Dota, DayZ), I tried it both via my (powered) USB hub and via the front USB on my case, same issue.
Is there anything obvious I'm missing that could cause this?

Check your windows power settings

Just to doublecheck, even though I installed the software from their page my hardware manager still shows what seems to be windows drivers from like 2006. Is this normal?

Hello everyone, First off, I'm terrible sorry if someone already has answered or brought up the things I'm about to bring up... I've been looking through this thread a tad but haven't seen anything (but I confess, since it's 181 pages long I haven't read everything).
It's like this, I bought my first gaming mouse today (because my old mouse was already half-broken when I started playing League of Legends back in early January and has been even closer to death for the past two weeks - oops for playing too much). So before I did buy it I checked a little regarding what others recommended and such, but in the end I fell for the part of me having a weak spot for the combination of black and orange... So bought one of the Steelseries mouses, a Sensei RAW. As soon as I got home from town I began to follow the instructions that I got with it (aka removing my old mouse and putting my sensei in it's place, then installing the softwear from steelseries' website). For the first half hour it worked amazingly well, but then I left my computer for a short while. Once I got back I planned on trying it for real by playing some... But at that point I noticed that it didn't work any longer. So I spent the upcoming hour trying to get it to work... After rebooting my computer it still didn't work, so I went into the softwear to change all the settings in there and see if anything happened when I did... And I don't remember exactly what I did that made the mouse start working again, but it did somehow. So to try it for real I decided to try playing League of Legends, and it worked amazingly well the first aram match I played with it... And then I decided to try it in a normal game as well, once again it worked just fine... Until the later part of the game, where the movements of it started to mess up (which in turn made me screw up a lot in the game itself)... One of my pals was online on LoL when I had finished the game, and I decided to ask him for help just because I couldn't think about anyone else who could help me. Unfortunately nothing helped and the mouse stopped working again after a short while of me trying to fix the movement of the arrow and such... So he told me to try uninstall the softwear and reinstall it again, which I've done... But it's still no difference... The mouse is half-dead just as it has been for the past few hours now... And the reason for me calling it "half-dead" is because of the following things; clicking on all the buttons works just fine, it's moving the arrow on the screen that doesn't work... And I've no idea why it is like that... I've tried everything my friend told me to try (aka changing the CPI up and down to see if it made any difference and checking if my computer had it as the main thing to use the arrow with (I've a tablet installed as well, so I'm using it right now in order to be able to use the computer) - not that I could find anything about it though, but before I had installed the softwear for the mouse my computer seemed to accept it, and it seems to be deeming the mouse as still working right now as well... Even though it doesn't work)... So would anyone of you guys happen to have any thoughts of what I've done wrong with it? Or is it just that the mouse was broken already before I bought it and I'll have to try to convince that to the store where I bought it?
Thankful for any help I can get, because this is really pissing me off...

Check different mouse pad/surface, clean the sensor
try it plugged into a different system

Try a different USB port too, the steelseries software is an unspeakable piece of shit and I had lots of problems with it back in the day when I got a sensei (mouse randomly turning off, software crashing and saturating my RAM, etc). If you get the mouse to work, kill the steelseries process and remove it from the boot list, so that you'll only have it running when you need to change a setting and it won't randomly crash and slow your PC.

Any time you buy something expensive and it doesn't work 100% within your return period, you need to get it returned. Forget if it's fixable or not, you need to take that back to the store before they can refuse to give back your money.
If it's already past that time, then you might want to look up Steelseries support or Q&A. Since your mouse is so new, I doubt that it's malfunctioning because it's dirty. The type of surface also matters. I can't remember but laser mice tend to be much more picky about the surface they are used on, sometimes causing them to jerk in random directions or jitter.

The sensei works better on hard pads as far as I know, but it shouldn't be related at all in his case; it seems like his problem is linked to the shitty software, but you're totally right he should have returned it just in case. I really wish steelseries would remake their "engine", I was really baffled at how terrible it was (didn't recognize the mouse > turned it off, had to switch USB for it to work back, then the engine detects a diablo headsets while I use a cheap sennheiser one, wtf, still doesn't detect the mouse, mouse working but no way to get the settings, reboot PC, try several things, finally get settings, put settings I want, mouse switched off again, switch usb, finally works, and then drivers crash each time I launch a game with a raw input option and lagg my PC). So yeah if you can't return it Vazchu but manage to make it work once and set it up, definitely uninstall that shit and see if the problem persists.

Sensei drivers are complete horsepoop, I can give you a +1 for that. Have as little to do with it as possible. There were times where I couldn't do the simplest thing, change the color of the LEDs or change the DPI slightly. Had to reinstall the entire software. Often times it ''reinstalled'' the up to date firmware that I already had.. It's just.. Broken.Their newer pheripherals are using the 3.0 drivers which are apparently pretty decent though. No support for Sensei's however.

My Mionix Naos just finally showed up as well (I ordered both to test them out and will send one back). That thing is so perfect. Now if only there would be a mouse just like that but with one more button either on the right side or below the thumb buttons. Or both. :3
Sadly I still couldn't figure out what causes the mouse being dumb but at least I know it's absolutely not the mouse itself. ;;

Well I'm of to good start. I got myself Roccat Kone XTD since my ol' good Abysuss died on me, anyway, installed the drivers and surprise mouse features firmware update however it failed, the mouse has ceased to respond at all basically died, anyone experienced such issue with Roccat hardware?

Is it normal for the keyboard to not function 100% while the left/right mouse button is depressed? This happens only in certain programs, like Brood War. For example, while depressing the left/right button, no letters/numbers/symbols will work. The Fn keys and Windows key will still function, though. In Notepad, only depressing the left button has this effect. In Firefox, neither button has this effect. I'm using a Logitech Performance MX and a Dell laptop. Is it an issue with the mouse? programs? keyboard?
I first noticed this in BW when I wanted to rally several buildings to the same spot. If those buildings are hotkeyed to 4, 5, and 6, I would press "4 - right click - 5 right click - 6 - right click." This is something that can be done very fast. But if it's done so fast that, for example, I press "5" while the previous right click is still depressed, then I will never even select the 5 building, without even knowing!

When the problem occurs the mouse itself also resets itself to the lowest DPI value I put into the software that comes with it (LEDs stay on) which led me to assume it's some USB power issue but that seems weird when even the powered USB hub doesn't do the trick. ;;
There also is seemingly no pattern to this, sometimes it's fine for a couple of hours and sometimes it happens every 5 minutes.

Maybe you could try using USB 2.0 and messing with some usb controller stuff in bios? I'm not sure how that stuff works, really
