+ Show Spoiler [instructions I followed] +
1. Set up a Static IP address for your computer. You will have to know your MAC address for this, if you don't know how to find this out refer to the end of this post. Something in the internal range the router allows, such as 192.168.0.3.
2.Set up a new Service whereby Port 5378 (this is the start and finish port) has TCP forwarded.
3.Set up a new Rule whereby the Service you just set up is forwarded to to the Static IP you just set up as the LAN Server, where the WAN users = Any and Action = Allow Always.
4.Go to www.whatismyip.com to find out the IP of your router.
5.Open VBALink, go to the Link settings and start the Server. It will still say that the server IP is 192.168.0.3, but if you give your router IP address to your friend and they put that in the Client Server-address-entry box, all the traffic will be forwarded to your computer.
basically it's just visual boy advance with an option to connect to different copies. It involves setting a static IP and forwarding a port (port 5378)

I am used to forwarding ports and I have set my static IP up at 192.168.1.17.
I basically followed this except I did not open 6112-## but I opened 5378.
The only thing I do not know if I followed is the excerpt
"3.Set up a new Rule whereby the Service you just set up is forwarded to to the Static IP you just set up as the LAN Server, where the WAN users = Any and Action = Allow Always."
I use Netgear WNR2000 router and I think as long as I forward my port @ 5378/192.168.1.17 I have covered that instruction but ofc correct me if I'm wrong.Anyways in my VBA Link test run I can connect both computer gameboys using the LAN IP of 192.168.1.17. When I try to connect via internet to my normal IP 76.20#.###.### ( I dunno if I'm supposed to show it to you guys) I cannot connect. I am assuming nobody else can connect as well. The only way I can currently connect multiple VBA's is through the IP 192.168.1.17. I dunno what to do I should be good for wc3 hosting so I feel like I am also good for VBA. Where did I go wrong?
