Your browser, possibly. Try another one to see if it works.

Any recommendation for a simple bandwidth monitor? I don't want to get one that'll spam for a upgrade version for a fee, etc.

You mean like this?
That's rainmeter for you. Though I'm guessing you wanted a program maybe. Wireshark, perhaps.

^^^ That right there. Rainmeter is the cure for what ails you. Although I have yet to find a decent skin for monitoring my vid card info.

I use the original NetMeter. I don't like the newer versions.

You'll lose FPS whatever you do by streaming, but with a CPU that weak you probably don't have the option for running a high resolution and FPS stream. You could try something like 2.0 downscale (960x540) @30fps with OBS using game capture

My NAS is assembled at this point. With some "gentle persuading" I got the case in shape enough to partially screw in the PSU (it's bottom mounted), so it doesn't budge more than about 1mm when pushed.
Everything is connected properly best I can tell, when power is pressed it all springs to life with the HDDs spinning on and the fans (including heatsink) whirring to life. No POST beeps, but I don't think I have a mobo speaker or any diagnostic LEDs.
Problem: no picture. I'm connecting directly to the motherboard D-Sub, but I can't get picture to show up. I've tried everything from a monitor that accepts D-Sub to adapters that turn D-Sub to HDMI, but nothing comes up. There is no graphics card installed.
I have to hold down the power button for several seconds to get it to shut off.
Thoughts?

Tried swapping the RAM (installed a different, single stick), no effect.

I know nothing about laptops. My goal is to get one that can play dota 2. I'm pretty sure this laptop accomplishes that, but I'm not sure if it's a rip off or not. Is the laptop decent? Could I get something much better for barely more? Could I get something sufficient but barely worse for much less? Am I going to have any over-heating problems? The description calls it a notebook, does that make it inferior to a laptop in any way?
Thanks.

Is there an option to monitor total bandwith used in net meter? I now have a bandwidth cap so I need to watch it ;;

sc2 related question. how much "Stalls/min" you should have with SSD?
|
United Kingdom20164 Posts
Load a replay, skip it to the end, then put the timer back at the start and x4/x8 through it on a player camera (whatever you can do with game running properly). After you've done that, you should get 0 stalls/min because the stuff in that replay is loaded in properly (maybe some, bad engine..) but there's an issue that can cause it to stall every 10 game seconds, so 6 times per game minute or ~8 times per real minute. That sometimes shows up on stalls/min i think, but sometimes not(?)
I think stalls MIGHT happen more often with Physics on - i benched without them often i think because they stuttered and ruined my benchmarks quite frequently when there were big fights

Acer Aspire E E1-771-6496 Notebook Intel Core i5 3230M (2.60GHz) 6GB Memory 500GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 4000 17.3" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

That's a lot to spend on a last-gen Acer laptop using Intel's integrated graphics unless maybe you're adamant on 17.3" screen size and want to hit some exact combination of CPU and GPU performance. 17.3" models aren't that common, especially with decent CPUs but only integrated graphics.
How much does the 1600x900 resolution and 17.3" size mean to you? Actually, I think HD 4000 in the laptop you linked would need to run DOTA 2 on low.
|
Mm it'd be nice to not go under that screensize, but ultimately it isn't a big deal. If it bugs me too much I can always just buy another monitor to use. I dunno how different win8 is, so that it came with 7 was nice to me. I dunno if some of the older games I play will have issues with 8. What kind of cpu or gpu should I be looking for instead? Running dota 2 on low wouldn't bother me provided I get 60 fps even in the busiest scenarios.

Hi, I have another (hopefully) simple questions.
I want to create an image for a stream I want to create. I see a lot of streams with almost no production value, and I want to have my stream stick out from the bottom streams.
Look at this image here, this is what I mean. http://i.imgur.com/JHcd1i5.png
The game is on the right, and an image is on the left. Basically, it is just a filler for the side of the screen that the game isn't on.
How do I create an image like this? I'm sure there is some technical photoshop stuff that I will mess around with, but I will play with that.
What kind of dimensions or image size do I need to create? Should I use my native desktop background resolution? Should I use a png or jpg or does that even matter? What are things I should consider?

Me again!
A few posts ago, people suggested me to update drivers on my GPU because I was having crash issues.
Today, when I tried to play Hearthstone, I crashed almost every game I tried to play (drivers stopped working OR, screen frozen)
Is there anything I should try? Or is likely an issue with the GPU ?
EDIT : I'm going try with other games and see how it goes

Is anyone interested in a Logitech G1? I have the original release, blue, 800dpi, bestest version in good shape and I don't like seeing it sit around.
I hope this post is in the right place in this thread.
