Apparently i suck hardcore, so i will ask here.
After watching LCS last week, sound just disappeared. It came back next day after rebooting but then died again at night.
After that i basically reinstalled all drivers, rebooted, everything was ok. Until next night.
Since that night nothing works + when i try to reinstall Realtek HDA again, it shows that it can't find entry point to RichEdit10ANSIWndProc procedure in DKLL Riched20.dll library.
Is my soundcard dead or i just suck? D: Thanks for help.

Have you tried changing your speakers (or headset)?

Well, does it really matter, when there is basically no sound from laptop itself anyway?

Yo, I have the creative a220 speakers which do not have a button to control bass and are plug-and-play so no software/driver....
The bass on this speaker is insane and i need a way to turn it down.
I can turn it down using VLC and MPCHC but my question is ...
is there a way to control bass/audio effects on a lower level than this so that I can listen to youtube video music with reduced bass?
My hotfix at the moment will be downloading youtube music using a chrome extension then playing it with VLC I guess (will try it now, tnx for the idea lol)
edit: this is pretty shit. i just plugged in my headphones instead. they have a fucking 1 metre long cable, who the fuck makes headphones with that length cable? spent 5 mins rebooting my pc coz i moved it an inch and o/c that means u cant start it up for a while :@ then it autoboots into recovery mode coz it randomly changes what the default option is every fucking time?>??? AND THEN MY ROUTER WASNT WORKING? damn you computers

It may take some reading and tweaking, but try EqualizerAPO: http://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/
It's a parametric EQ that works via config files (no easy GUI or anything). You need to configure it to run on whatever audio output interface in Windows-Vista-or-later that you want it to affect. Try grabbing Room EQ Wizard, which can export parametric EQ settings to be used by EqualizerAPO. In Room EQ Wizard, you can play around with different parameters with a graph and see what works. Either that or just set the below and see if that works for you.
Filter 1: ON LS 6dB Fc 80.0 Hz Gain -8.0 dB If you want even less bass, change -8 to something lower. If you want it to affect higher frequencies, bump the 80 up. If you need something more complicated, you better use multiple or different types of adjustments and look it up yourself.

Anyone know if there is faster way to access my gmail phone account on Windows rather than going to gmail.com and dialing from there directly? Like a desktop app or anything? Would be nice if there's a quicker way to access it via my desktop in Windows. I'm aware I can just create a shortcut on my desktop to gmail.com to make it a bit quicker, but just curious if there's a supported desktop version or anything. Couldn't find anything relevant after a quick google search.
Thanks

I want to start using a browser that isn't horrid and I don't know what to do.
For the last 6~ months I've been using chrome but the complete lack of customization and bad addon support is killing me and I'm sick of it. Before that I was using opera 12 or whatever it was before they made the update where it became another bad webkit browser. Before that I was using firefox but the bloat and ability to use every resource my computer has made me move on.
So what it the world am I supposed to be doing here?

Nothing because they're all horrid.

How incredibly depressing.

Nice to hear I'm not the only one who dislikes what they did with Opera.

What did they do with Opera? It's the browser I'm using right now and I kind of like it. I don't use add-ons or anything though, I guess.
Speed dial > favorites and since all I do is browse the web, I'm fine? Idk. maybe i'm like my dad who uses IE and says he's fine with that. ignorance is a bliss,

I remember when the world wide web used to be able to be browsed easily using Lynx.
Then imagemaps screwed it all up.

The thing with current opera is that you might as well be using chrome since they are essentially the same thing now but with chrome you get some google integration features.

is the Razer Cortex any different from Razer Booster? should I bother with it?

Didn't they literally buy game booster? (oops misread, but i assume all 3 are the same thing..)
Those programs only help you if you're running crap on your system, don't bother with it unless you are doing that or you want the other features

My desktop has been randomly crashing every once in a while for the past few weeks, and today it's barely run for more than 30 minutes at a time. I loaded up SpeedFan to see if it's overheating and while the temperatures look normal, the RPM on the GPU fan randomly jumps from 1800ish to ludicrous stuff like 750000. I don't hear any noise difference from the fan. Is this likely to just be a glitch in SpeedFan or could it be the real problem?
Not really a simple question I guess, but I didn't know where else to post it.

You can try other programs like MSI Afterburner or HW Monitor and see what they report. Sounds more like a faulty reading than anything serious.
|
Yeah I'll try that now. Reason I asked in the first place is that I couldn't keep the computer running long enough to actually download one of those other programs. Cleaned everything just in case, tested the RAM, that seems fine, and after keeping it turned off for a while (I'm really bad at turning off the computer when I'm not using it), it's been running fine. I'm guessing it just overheated because it's getting a little old, was a little dusty and hadn't been turned off in a while.
