Hi there.
I have bin streaming for some time, but now I wanted to stream in 1080p so I tested it out.
Xsplit settings:
Quality: 10 VBV Max Bitrate: 5000 VBV Buffer: 10000
Audio Code: MP3 Format 44,100KHz 16 bit stero Bitrate: 72000
I have a 5 mb upload speed and when monitoring the bandwidth that xsplit uses, it goes to around 4,5mb
I'm referring to this vid: http://www.justin.tv/evire/b/290342038
Why is this lagging when there is still bandwidth left?
Thanks /Evire

Well I can have godly internet but I cannot stream if my processor is an Intel Pentium with integrated graphics. Could you please post your computer specs, as those might be the problem.

Intel i5 2500k 3,6GHz Kingston 1333mhz dd3 HD 5850
No lag what so ever ingame
|
Internet service provider saying it's 5mbit doesn't mean it is. It also depens on what server you are connected to and how fast you can send data there. Seems likely that you are reaching your max upload.
|
I got over 5 mb

Connection in that test could be better than the connection to justin.tv or whatever you use. Ofc something else could be wrong but assuming that the app tries to use the whole bandwidth then it seems like the easiest explanation.
But maybe someone knows some optimizations or something in order to get it to work.

Well isn't 4,5mb in itself enough to stream 1080p?
|
you need an ubercomp to stream 1080p on xsplit

So you mean other programs like adobes streamer would be better?
And why do I need this when there in no lagg ingame? As far as I know it doesn't take any processing power to send the video to justin.tv

Audio Code: MP3 Format 44,100KHz 16 bit stero Bitrate: 72000
What...

Max bandwidth is still not used with those settings

if you have no hardware which captures it directly in 1080 you need a NASA computerto stream lagfree in 1080p with a software decoder
|
screen resolution is 1920x1080

72000 for bitrate The max bit rate for mp3 is 320kbs So that 72000 would have to be in bytes which would make it 70kbs which is not a supported format for mp3 it can't be 8kbs because you have 44Khz When your bitrate for video is 5000 which ones assumes is in kilobytes so then what is the audio at 72000

No, it takes a lot of processing power. The raw video (and audio) needs to be encoded in real time and sent out. All that compression and clever processing takes a lot of CPU cycles. Your i5-2500k is probably just not enough, especially at just 3.6 GHz.
Just lower some combination of resolution, fps, and quality settings.

Didn't think about that, but would that remove the lag? I'm gonna test it out right now www.justin.tv/evire

After lowering quality to 6 and using 320kbs audio the stream is smoother. But I still get lag spikes http://www.justin.tv/evire/b/290349305
Edit: After second watch it looks good enough. But I thought the comp was going to do better

I am noticing that some of the lag is when my preview windows is lagging. Any solution to that?

I have the reverse, AMD 1055T @ 4.1GHz (6 cores) but only 1 meg up I find if you individually assignee SC2 and Xsplit (and the capture program) their own cores (2 for SC2 and the rest for Xsplit) I also set the priority of these to high then this helps A LOT.
Edit:

This means that your are struggling to render the frames fast enough.
