Agreed. Before I looked into keyboards and started researching, all I thought about was buying Razer gear because they're one of the best known gaming brands out there. I was fortunate to meet someone who knew about keyboards and suggested that I don't get it simply because there are better quality keyboards for the same price as a Razer keyboard. I ended up going with a Cherry G80-3000 with MX blue switches, and I'm really satisfied with this keyboard.

Well, my brand new DAS keyboard just arrived!! It's quite the upgrade over my out of the box dell keyboard I've been using the last couple of years.
I have one problem though. It doesn't have a hand rest like the old one. I didn't give any thought to how the hand rest I'm used to affected me, and after only 3 games my forearm feels incredibly fatigued. I tried resting the bottom of my palm on desk, but it doesn't feel like that is going to help much. I'm used to playing 5-6 hours at a time, and have never experienced this kind of fatigue before. Is there anything I can do, or will it just be a process of reconditioning the muscles in my forearm and hand?
Has anyone else experienced something like this when switching to a new keyboard? How did you deal with it, and how long did it take before the "fatigue" went away?
Thanks.

Two options. Buy a separate rest, or get used to it. How long it takes you depends on usage, environmental stuff (desk, etc), posture, and a handful of other things. But for me, it's usually just a few days of hefty use and new peripherals get comfortable again.

Although, you said laying it on your desk might not help, that's what I naturally moved to and I haven't even noticed to be honest until you mentioned it. I'd stick with planting your wrist to your desk and it shouldn't take much to acclimate yourself to it.

Suggestions? The Zowie Celeritas looks kinda good but every review I've seen kinda makes it seem that it's completely average. Filco Majestouch2 looks great but no one in Canada sells them

I would recommend though you look for a leopold or a wasd keyboard. Leopold as basically rebranded filcos. Here are the links to the websites
Leopold http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=leopold
Wasd http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/
PM me if you need anything else I would be happy to help :D
Both links ship to Canada btw.

Just ordered
Filco Ninja Majestouch-2 UK layout with brown switches (picture there is us layout)
Can't wait for it.

Bought recently a Steelseries 6Gv2. I'm pretty pleased with it. Really simple, cheap, confortable and REALLY durable. It is a little heavy, since it is done in a metal plate, but that's just to add for its durability.
Takes a while to get used to the \ key being on the other side of the keyboard, but that's probably the onyl thing I could say against it.

had a black widow for a while, was great for a razer product but the keys were a bit loud and the glossy frame drove me insane
then I heard about wasd keyboards and immediately ordered one with brown switches, engraving and a chess board layout, absolutely love brown switches, they really do make so much less noise than blue and it feels slightly easier to spam in sc2 with browns.
starleague keys:
decided to get a couple extra keycaps to see what the colours are like in person, using a green escape key right now instead of black red or white
now they just need to release a tenkeyless version so I can somewhat justify ordering another keyboard with a different design and try cherry red switches because all the mechanical keyboard elitists tell me they're the best

wow wasd keyboards look so awesome.....

Every mechanical keyboard I've tried has been shit in my opinion. Waste of money

What is it called when the letters and numbers are printed on the side of the keyboard?
On the same note where can i get basically that keyboard with the number pad? (I just like having a little more room it looks to cramped for me imo)
