If you do the BWU is an ok choice. There are better quality keyboards out there but most do not have macro keys or backlighting (there are some), and of course they cost more.

I wouldn't call the BWU a ripoff, there is just better stuff out there if you are willing to spend the time (and usually money) to find it. If you want a backlit keyboard then the Ducky Shine is better quality but its harder to find.

I'd rather suggest Corsair K90 or QPAD MK-80 or MK-85 or the Ducky Shines if you can find them somewhere

Here's hoping it doesn't have any of the quality problems I've heard about (mostly with the soldering). For such a low price and nice body/key layout though I think it's worth the risk (I like keyboards that aren't shiny with crazy macro keys or giant enter buttons). It should arrive monday, I'm excited to finally have a mechanical keyboard again instead of my 8 dollar rubber dome piece of shit. I've had one since September and I've had zero problems with it. Paid $55 shipped, was kinda of wary but turns out it's a damn good keyboard. From what I've heard they used to have manufacturing problems but they've since been remedied.

First, Ducky DK9008G2 this is the cheapest of the lot so I'm wondering what the difference in build quality is like Das Silent, the one thing that has me leaning away from this is the shiny finger print attracting surface Filco Majestouch 2. Here is where I need another opinion, my brother who works in R&D for a company that makes this sort of thing has expressed concern as to the terrible design. But I don't know anything about soldering.

I'd be curious to know how or why someone's finger is placed on such a small surface in such a way as to leave fingerprints. The only thing I can realistically see is if your typing style maybe rests your thumbs on the piece below the spacebar. Outside of that, I find it a silly claim and haven't had any issues with my Das personally in regards to fingerprints or dust.
