They market their products towards gamers. The 6gv2 doesn't have a special gamer-specific layout. The layout is simply UK style: versus US style: I was in the same position a few months ago when I was trying out mechanical keyboards. I didn't realize there was such a difference and promptly returned my 6gv2 for something else. (And yes, typing on blacks, imo, is not as enjoyable as other switch types). The good thing is that there's been such a proliferation of mechanical keyboard manufacturers out there, that you can shop around and find a keyboard that matches you desires.

It's up to you, but for me - I really wish my mechanical keyboard had a palm rest (not wrist! don't put pressure on your wrists, it blocks circulation; bad ergonomics). To deal with that, I'm using some generic padded palm rest. The other thing I wish I had was backlighting. GL installing your own LED's...

The multimedia keys aren't mechanical. No surprise here. But it seems the K90 macro keys and all the F1 to F12 keys on both keyboards aren't mechanical as well. There are discussions on different hardware forums with pictures of the function keys base and they all look different from the other MX red bases. Even someone from Corsair customer service confirmed they are not MX red. I'd definitely wait for detailed reviews as these two seem to be rubber dome/mechanical hybrids.

Having the F-keys be rubber domes isn't too bad since it is actually not too common for people to use them a lot (I know about camera hotkeys in SC2 and they're rather rare.) On the other hand, people who're buying the K90 for the macro keys are going to be rather disappointed since going by my brother who played WoW hardcore for a few years, he used about 15/18 of the hotkeys on his g15. The K60 looks usable, the K90 seems like a rip-off given that information.

Filco has not released any statements stating that they will make any more mx red switch boards in the future. if you really want a filco with reds you should want to pay any amount for them.

I don't care what it is with reds as long as it's something that I can get to europe, currently the best option would possibly be to order a Leopold from NA but with shipping that's 170 dollars and with taxes that's 220 dollars as well and it's so stupid that I could just get a keyboard with browns for like half the price when both NA and Australia have extremely cheap options for them.

You have to search for the keyboard though, I couldn't find it in the keyboard section otherwise.I think today is the last day to get a Rosewill RK-9000 Mx Blue for $92 shipped. Only for US and maybe CAN. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823201040 Coupon: "EMCKAJE228" In other news, I just ordered an RK-9000! I wanted one of these a year ago but they sold out before I could get one and haven't been in stock in so long! A Filco-quality keyboard for $99 bucks is too good to pass up. I was gonna get a Das but I saw these again and immediately ordered it with some RAM for my PC that matches what I already have in it (Both for the same price as a Das Ultimate). I'm also happy they have Purolator available for shipping now, especially after UPS left $900 dollars worth of parts on my doorstep in the rain (It was my processor, video card, RAM, DVD drive, PSU and other random stuff. It all worked but I was not enthused. The other $600 came separately and I was home for), along with a $400 Tissot watch in -30C temperatures, sitting on snow (Glad I was home to grab it within a few minutes. The battery would have blown inside the watch). Purolator has never failed me once, especially when Jackson Guitars was sending me free shirts for helping find specification errors in guitar models when they first revamped their site (They accidentally sent me 3, it was awesome. The PR guy told me to keep them all as thanks instead of the 1 I was owed). Also, holy shit has the price of RAM gone down. When I first bought 4 gigs of Gskill RAM a year and a half ago when I first built my PC it was 120 bucks, now it is $32 for the identical thing. I even confirmed it by looking in my history. I heard the DRAM market was in dire condition but not this bad. Anywho, I'll review the RK-9000 when it gets here (next week I imagine) and check to see if it is the same as last years (Filco controller and whatnot). I'm super pumped. It'll be a huge upgrade from my 6GV2, which I have begun to loath lately as the keys like to pop off especially the F-keys, which I use for cameras a lot. My escape key pops off almost every time I use it now.

Now I can use PS/2 with my desktop and USB with my lappy.Yeah, mx blues are amazing after the adjustment period. That new RK-9000 looks great and now has a detachable USB and PS/2 cable that comes with it. : ) Of course Newegg hates me, I live in Saskatchewan (central Canada), my keyboard is being sent from California and my RAM is being sent from New Jersey. I don't really care as long as it doesn't take a month like last time and I don't have to pay duty. I shouldn't have to pay duty since I bought from Newegg.ca though. I didn't last time when I had $900 worth of parts sent from New Jersey.

Used that through cod4 and over 3000 games of bw.. My fingers are sooo use to that ultra slim layout. I JUST updated to a new mechanical keyboard (brown leopold). I've had it for like two days.. Its going to take some time to get use to it since that last piece of crap keyboard I had had flat keys. I can feel my self playing a lot slower too (partly because I'm forcing my self to use a new hotkey set up too). Big investment on a keyboard $$ wise. I do hope it pays off
