Browns might sound a tiny bit different because of the tactility, but it's not really noticeable unless you're specifically trying to hear a difference. Bottoming out is the only thing that makes any significant sound on browns, reds, and blacks.
They are essentially the same. Filcos are just expensive because their distribution chain sucks and somehow people associate their name with quality (?).
So someone mentioned mechanical keyboards and I found some interesting fairly in depth videos from this guy WhiteFireDragon
I was a bit mindblown honestly since this was fairly awesome at least in my book. Now only if a had a true sense of how each of these damned switches felt to know what would be most to my liking.

Yeah, OEM for both is Costar and they both use the Costar stablizers on the larger keys. I actually think the QFR is better value for money as you get more features for a lower price (Detachable cable and media keys are quite nice to have)

WFD is well known on the geek hack forums. He has been part of many group buys, super smart and is always a good source for information.
I've got a rosewill mech keyboard that just stopped working last friday. As in it was working for the first half of the day, then i went to lunch and came back and couldn't type anymore. Now it says it's an unrecognized USB device whenever I try to type on it. When i unplug and plug in the keyboard the num key light will turn on for a sec then go off. Can't type anything. Plugged in another USB keyboard and it works fine. Halp

If you have the RK-9000, the USB cable->keyboard connection is notoriously flimsy, that's how mine broke after ~2 months of mild use. See http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823201040, a bunch of complaints there too. Too bad, besides this one issue it's a really nice board...
Ahhh I just randomly tried a button to see if it was working and it was and by the time i got it into position for normal use it stopped working T_T and yeah its the RK-9000
Are you shitting me. I'm literally 16 days past my warranty. This is absurd.
Any high apm players in here? Which board do you use and how long do your mech boards typically last? I ask because I bought the steelseries 6g with black keys and after 6 months my number keys are not nearly as bouncy. Is this fixable/common?
This was the best purchase of my life, but 80$ is expensive for 6 months use when you`re eating ramen noodles to afford it :D

i average about 260 with SC2Gears. my cooler master quickfire pro has lasted about 2 years now. i think i know what you're talking about as i had a 6gv2 with blacks as well. i replaced mine when it started feeling like the keys just sucked in all the force i was using to press the switch, and just didn't feel very pleasant.

There's a guide on how to grease the switches. You might want to look into that. I think I've seen it on the subreddit about mechanical keyboards (sry, don't remember url), a picture guide saved as an imgur album by some dude named "ripster". I would guess it's important to use the right kind of grease and right kind of amount to not break the switch and the electrical contacts, so don't just try something without researching first.
Rosewills are known for having the USB port break off on them and malfunction. Its the reason I returned mine and got a Quickfire TK instead. Haven't had issues with the USB on this one.

Any one button to one button change is completely ok. Having one button issue multiple commands is not, though.

How does the cm quickfire pro compare to the 6gv2? Which keys do you use?
