ASUS VG248QE G-SYNC or some BenQ model? I need something good to look on, I think both Asus and Benq can deliver blur smoothness, but who delivers the best image quality so I can spot the enemy a tad better? I am also ordering a new graphic card, to make sure its stable fps

The vg248qe and several benq monitors are very similar for IQ, i think they used the same panel for some. what CPU and GPU do you plan to use? Using Intel Core i5-3570K, not sure about the GPU, does it matter? Thinking GeForce something, probably 950/960. Some people say that blur reduction is better when you are certain that fps are stable high. Maybe I'll just go for the BenQ one

Gsync gives the most advantage when frametimes are inconsistent, faster than the slowest speed of the monitor but not as fast as the monitor is capable of. That means frametimes between ~32-7ms with most of the better gsync monitors today that have a 1/30'rd of a second to 1/144'th of a second refresh period. If you can keep every frame faster than 1/144'th of a second, the benefits are minor by comparison but might still be notable. I'd have to use a gsync monitor to say. Backlight strobing works best with triple buffer vsync (the kind that continually renders new frames into two alternating back buffers and then shows the most recently completed one when the next screen refresh starts) but that's a pain to set up if you can even do it well with that particular game. Otherwise you're probably playing strobing+vsync off. Strobing is pretty hit and miss, some people notice it a lot and can't stand to play without a CRT or backlight strobing because of how dramatic the difference to motion blur is but others don't notice it much at all. It can also be hit and miss because of the increased eye strain which is a problem for some users

With Asus I can switch, but I can't do this with a BenQ xl2411z for example? Am I getting it right? It's just 80$ more for the Asus monitor.

Colours are better on the XL2411Z with calibration with ICC and OSD settings compared to the VG248QE. You're usually better off just choosing the cheaper one of the two however.

this is what i currently use Main -> FS2434 (EIZO) and some old ASUS VS247H-P Monitor. I might be in the market for an upgrade size wise. The Eizo one is really good, i like the colors and for what i do it is enough, the second monitor does not really matter to me as i just use it to browse..so why would i like a new monitor? all i ever had was 1080p or lower resolution, i would like to into 1440p so i can have a larger screen and wow interface lol! is there something out there for like ~300 euro that is a good 1440p monitor?

Thinking of this at first Acer 24" Predator GN246HL. It isnt super expensive and its an upgrade from my 7-8 years old monitor now which is low resolution+60hz.

Rest of the setup, is as I can remember: - installed monitor driver - AMA high - blur reduction ON - digital vibrance to 100% in nvidia - a custom ICC - put "-freq 144" in csgo launcher option I'm not sure I'm running it optimal, I want as little blur as possible. Have I forgot something? I have not bothered with: - forums.blurbusters.com - VT tweaking - custom resolution as described in this yt video xl2411z advanced settings guide Should I push my settings further and try grasp the "not bothered with" part?

I'm not sure I'm running it optimal, I want as little blur as possible. Have I forgot something? The brightness and the eye tracking motion blur are both directly proportional to strobe length - longer strobe = more brightness, more motion blur. That first bar (the 1.5ms) should adjust the strobe length and go from about 0.5ms to 4ms, while the second bar (IIRC, have not seen the program for a while) is probably the one that adjusts the timing to change some artifacts and mildly affect input lag. - digital vibrance to 100% in nvidia That messes up colors quite a lot :0

Do you know anything about people using settings at 120hz with 1502 fix? The settings can be seen here in this blurbuster thread. They are making a custom resolution.

I've seen a few people do it but it's one of those settings that completely ruins any sense of calibration. Not worth it at all IMO. They are making a custom resolution. have heard about that stuff but don't know much about it since i don't use that monitor

I am looking to get a new 24" monitor and wondered if anyone has recommendations for a budget option? (around 200€, prefer amazon.de as retailer) I would like to get as much performance out of it as possible at 1080p, for both gaming and viewing shows/movies. I prefer monitors with good response times as I'll be playing CSGO and Smash on whatever I pick. Desktop considerations: CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-6600K GPU: SAPPHIRE NITRO Radeon™ R9 390 8G Edit: I've been kind of getting feeback elsewhere that shelling out an additional 100€ or so will give me sig. more options, is this true? One of the monitors I'm considering is the: BenQ XL2411Z, 24" , but at 277€ I wasn' considering it before in the range I was looking. Any thoughts on this?
