@NerdUpgrades Any sort of IP range blocking is done through a firewall. Even if you were to block them via your router it would be done through a firewall function. At least for me it was. I used iptables to save a firewall script in my dd wrt router. @Cyro I know that for me also that watching live twitch and a vod are two completely different experiences. I can watch live no problem. VODs on the other had (90% of what I like to watch) seem to be stored and streamed from a completely different place. Live twitch goes through ingestion server and then goes right out to viewers, if I have it right.

Apologies to everyone that this isn't working for. I'm am glad that that for some, like @grs, it's giving the intended results. Hock it up with one of those "easy and definitely worth a try" fixes. @NerdUpgrades Any sort of IP range blocking is done through a firewall. After about a month of flawless 1080 I'm back to stuttering and shit quality streams again. Sometimes they work at 720, but never higher. Most of the time I'm stuck on 480 if I don't want to rage at the buffering every 10 seconds. Fuckin horrible customer service to throttle stuff like that.

Turns out my video services were routing my video through congested servers that used bandwidth throttling in order to allow even more congestion into the servers. After investigating, I found the IP ranges of these toxic servers. After blocking them from my router and Windows Firewall I found that youtube, twitch.tv, and vimeo services all worked flawlessly. Here is my post on this fix which includes an easy to follow youtube video on how to block these ranges in windows firewall. Enjoy, Mark bananaconda @ twitch.tv http://www.bananaconda.net/2013/05/how-to-fix-lag-on-twitchtv-vimeo-and.html YOU ARE MY HERO! Thank you so much for this fix. Works on youtube and Twitch wonderful. 1080p streams without lag...i cannot believe it

Tryina watch proleague http://www.twitch.tv/sc2proleague/c/2310233 Over the month ive been following proleague by watching the vods at my leisure, and its just at the point where its IMPOSSIBLE to watch it on ANY quality. It will just load for a couple seconds, then stop, then load, then stop, then load, and stop to no end. On top of that, if I try to let it buffer, e.g. open the vod up, pause it, and let it sit (for an hour), it buffers just a couple minutes and then goes back to lagging like a 3 wheel car. It's so frusturating too because I have no problems streaming from twitch tv, no problems dlling other content, watching videos on EVERY other website (porn, gom, youtube, even live streams), but I can't watch the vods of proleague -.-

Twitch is kinda unwatchable for me too.

Encoded at really low quality for ease of uploading, but all frames intact as i saw them; Stream using less than half of my bandwidth, i am the only person connected. From what i hear it's the same on any connection. I had these issues since i remember; Definately since before NASL season 1 This is literally almost half downtime - sometimes i can multibox 1080p streams putting my download at >5-6mbits - sometimes a single, 1mbit stream will do this.. I didn't pick this clip out carefully, i literally just opened this thread, opened the MLG stream, saw it was lagging like this and started recording

Some kind of throttling going on? I know they have been accused of not providing the advertised speeds and doing some other shady things, but I'm not completely sure they would throttle people across the board. Their service has always been kind of shitty (I pay like ~75$ a month and my MAX D/L is 2.4mbps. Lol getting hosed), but I'd like to see some testing done by someone who knows what to look for.

I contacted support and they blamed Twitch and gave me the run around. Clearly this has nothing to do with Twitch. I tried blocking all the suggested ports and it never worked for me, but this works great!
