Lately I've been TOing events for smash and came across a problem - using multiple video sources (capture card, webcam) Every time I try to have multiple video sources OBS freezes up completely. I can't close it and trying to force close it doesn't work either so I end up restarting my computer. I have followed several OBS streaming guides (this one, and Beanwolfs specific to smash streaming guide) but I have not been able to alleviate the issue. I have no idea what's going on. Halp?

Recently I have tried to start streaming and have been mixing around with some settings. However I don't seem to get it quite right. I started streaming with 1920 x 1080, 60 fps, 3500 bitrate. It worked out okay for games like Dota and Hearthstone. However when I played csgo with it my CPU usage is like 90% and you can notice a wierd kind of lag ingame. Not fps drops or latency but more like a input lag. Everytime I turn off the stream I can notice a distinct difference in the flow of the game. My guess would be it is because of the high CPU usage. (?) Then I lowered my resolution and went 720p. 1280 x 720, 30 fps, 2250 bitrate. That delay I was talking about earlier is still there (maybe abit less, but still noticeable enough), and with cs go being such a game where every millisecond counts it is game-breaking. My CPU usage is hovering somewhere around 70 to 90 %. Should I lower the resolution even more? Is 540p the next step? The setup im using currently is; Intel Core i5-4590S @ 3,00 gHz Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 8 gb ram Kingston Fury 100/100 fiber connection. Any help is appriciated!

If CSGO is using high % of many cpu cores, you could use an fps_max at appropriate level; i think you need at least 128 or so (plus 10-20%) depending on the tickrate of the server. Make sure that you're using game capture in OBS always, as well. Alternatively, and probably better if you feel that way, just use NVENC instead of x264. It's not difficult to set up at all (probably more foolproof than x264) and as long as you're not trying to stream at 61+FPS and don't mind the loss of quality per bit compared to good x264 settings it performs great; you should see no added CPU load and if the performance drop isn't imperceptible it should be close. It's especially good on 970/980 which have upgraded NVENC.

is it possible to make it so that OBS sources the audio to stream from a window that isn't displayed on "top" of the monitor? I want to able to open StarCraft, start a replay, switch over to web browser/ther program/whatever and have the replay running in background and being streamed. While it can be done, OBS still picks up audio from what I actually hear and from StarCraft. any way to work around it?

Container: .mp4 -No Edit Lists (or you may lose AV sync) -moov atom at the front of the file (Fast Start) Video codec: H.264 -Progressive scan (no interlacing) -2 consecutive B frames -Closed GOP. GOP of half the frame rate. -CABAC -Chroma subsampling: 4:2:0 I guess I need to use the custom option line in the encoder options of OBS but I have no idea what to put there =)
