If you do start to drop frames in the future, you can slightly decrease your video bitrate and/or lower audio bitrate to 96kbps. Also, what capture method are you using (monitor, window, game)? You may or may not want to disable Aero depending on that. I'm using game capture, but I wanna add more capturing or scenes so that when I switch over to my desktop, the stream doesn't randomly freeze. I like how the pros have their stream set up so that it zooms out of the game and stuff. I don't want everyone to see my desktop and MSN/Skype conversations or whatever, but I also don't want my friends to see nothing but a "screenshot" either.

I streamed PS2 for 3 hours without lag or issues on 720p at 20 fps. Might try some higher resolutions and framerates.

@ZetaP-- Did you try game capture or window capture yet? I personally went from monitor capture to game capture and noticed a huge improvement in microstuttering/FPS. You can also run your games in fullscreen OR windowed/borderless with these methods. Try either one and see if it helps:
For game capture method: with your game of choice open and running, right click sources -> add game capture -> choose [game].exe from list (works with Aero enabled or disabled, not sure if one is prefered)
For window capture method: with your game open, right click sources -> add software capture -> window capture -> select game (you'll want Aero enabled for this one)

Works really good now z0rz, although I need to use the 32bit version to stream sc2. Thank you.
The 64 bit version of this isn't the best anyway.

I've just tried to get OBS working after becoming too frustrated with Xsplit causing me to lag, but now when I try to add SC2 as a game capture it just gives me a black screen. Everything else works fine but SC2 black screens me. Please help, been on this for two hours now trying to get it working. Cheers!
EDIT: Just tried to use game capture for other programs and it still black screens me. Any time I use the game capture function the stream goes black.
I get a black stream when I add sc2. What should I do?
Did you run SC2 in windowed mode?
I don't play SC2 in windowed mode, I play it in fullscreen. Other people say it works fine for them just using game capture but for me it shows up black.
Run it in full screen windowed, or windowed.
I play pretty competitively and find it hard to play in window mode, even full screen. Is there any way to just have it run in fullscreen mode (not windowed)? Lots of other people I speak to seem to get it working fine with the fullscreen mode, just by using game capture.
Thanks! Now I just need to know how to get a small desktop like the pro streamers so people can't see my stuff!
The black screen is due to patch 1.5.4. I was able to stream before with OBS. Now I get black screen like everyone else. Windowed full screen works though!
I haven't played since 1.5.4 so hopefully it didn't break game capture somehow. Blizzard DOES have the Reverse Midas Touch with performance patches though...
Have you tried window capture with SC2 in fullscreen? You will probably want Aero enabled as well.
I did try windows capture in full screen. Still gives me a black screen when I go to SC2 with a flickering mouse
Got it to capture game screen now but still flickers terribly when I try to play. Not sure how to solve it. Heres a link to a VoD, where I try to start up 2 games and the UI flickers really hard.

Would really appreciate help. Thanks in advance.

I think I've solved the problem for myself. I raised the resolution to 1080p and upped my bitrate to 2500. Now I lag a little more on the big fights, but the quality is much better.

double post, delete please

Aled723 - I would need to see a log file
Rah - what capture method?
Game capture. I'd like to be able to cut down my lag more while maintaining that quality, but I think I'm out of tricks.
