Im not sure, there should be a few guides out there for Xsplit if not for OBS (and setup should be pretty much the same)

Here are some settings:
Resolution: 1280x720 (downscaled) Fps: 60 Bitrate: 600 Buffer: 650 Preset: medium
That should be fine. Won't look amazing, but you'll be able to see at least something. Medium at 60fps on a 2500k@4.5ghz is a no, you are talking at an over three times increase in load compared to Veryfast. Id do Medium@1280x720@30fps or just use Faster @ 60fps. Slow if you want to use 960x540@30fps, which i would reccomend for such upload, i have similar. Tweak bitrate/buffer til you get something that works well for you, every 50kbit is pretty important when you are so limited. Dont mess around with presets in general or lower further if you dont know exactly what you are doing and know how to test things correctly, dropping 1 preset is oftentimes something like doubling CPU load and you need your stream to be stable through worst-case scenario spikes, its difficult to measure out and test correctly - 1 preset as long as you are below Superfast (which you should always be, Veryfast is default) will not really give you any kind of visible difference (and is essentially impossible to eye-test), it's only really the compound effect of dropping 3-4 presets to medium/slow which can be very notable I've got a i5 2500k and i can easily do 1280x720 @ 60fps with medium preset, i can even do 1080p @ 40fps with medium preset... Not a good idea to argue with experience . Not a good idea to argue with more experience, if you think for a second you can push settings anywhere near that ballpark on a stock 2500k then you are either extremely arrogant or dont have a clue how to do any kind of stress test
I have to agree with this, I can't even do this on a 4.6ghz 2600k. You might be able to do it and play the game ok, but you will not maintain in game or stream FPS. Medium just kills your system to much.

Yes, VAC setup will be the same, then you just set your Microphone/Auxiliary Device in OBS Audio settings to Line 1 (or whatever the VAC Line ends up being called)

Yes, i dont mean to be a dick about this either, but i know at least basic capabilities of x264 and various CPU's, actually i had a pretty long skype conversation helping with a lot of stream stuff with somebody using a stock 2500 earlier. 1280x720@60fps is about right for stock 2500k, 1920x1080@40fps is stretching things, going from Veryfast to Medium is insane. You are already bouncing off your stable limits, you cant just increase CPU load by a factor of 3.0x+
My CPU is more powerful, and cant even come close to 1920x1080@40fps@medium in an offline encode. Its not "not quite" there, its simply put that those kinds of settings are a big stretch for an overclocked 3770k, boasting 1.6x+ the performance of the 2500, in an enrivoment where you can dedicate the entire CPU to encoding with no other concerns. I dont think you have bad intentions trying to post stats, but this is not a matter of opinion nor a battle for either side to win, its simple facts of x264 and CPU strengh

What settings should I be using?
Currently when I stream, when I watch it myself I have no problems but a lot of people have complained about lag to me, I'm streaming on Twitch also

Does anyone know of a work around to stream (with game setting) Dark Souls if you're using the DSfix?
I can only stream dark souls if I used monitor capture but then it's obviously a little laggy and pretty bad looking.
This software is great, so far I've been doing 720p at 60fps with no issues in dota2.

Your kbit is too high, if you upload more than the viewers can download, it's obvious that they lag...

ok idk what is going on but everything was working perfectly but now it says "Invalid stream channel/stream key." I did not change the stream key at all, and I even tried reinstalling the program but for some reason it keeps all the settings so I don't think that even helps. Is there a way to reinstall and delete all personal settings?

As obvious as this sounds, have you tried reentering your stream key?

yes, and I have reset it multiple times.

I was starting to use this for 3 days straight was awesome, now I randomly lag like fuck.. Anyone know why?

Twitch has been really weird the last couple days and dropping out for me, wouldnt be suprised at this point if it was a widespread problem.
Perfectly smooth until its not, happens less often at lower bitrates. This was a 3000kbit CBR stream and i have ~7mbit stable down

Was on the "EU: Frankfurt" Server.

I see this with zero dropped frames client side, if you have dropped frames it could indicate another problem

Hello good took a week or two with the OBS trying to look its best and no i had good results almost none. Could you tell me what would be the ideal setting for my Twitch.tv channel?
Actuall OBS settings: Quality: 10 Bitrate/Buffer: 3500/3500 Res: 1920x1080 / scaled to 1920x1080 (I have a monitor 21") 30 FPS Fast
GeForce GTX 660 Ti 8 GB ram i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
If you need more information in order to better advise Warn. thank you very much

Any idea about the 32/64 bit issue?
