My control panel settings: Playback: Speakers / ASUS Xonar DX Audio Device - Default Device Recording: Microphone / Webcam C260 - Default Device OBS Audio settings: Desktop Audio Device: Speakers (ASUS Xonar DX Audio Device) Microphone/Auxiliary Audio Device: Microphone (Webcam C260) Using game capture. I had it working with these settings, but OBS stopped broadcasting my other desktop sounds after restarting my computer with the same settings left on. I've tried using default settings in OBS with no success as well.

Xsplit gamesource is vastly different in terms of performance and how it scales to anything in OBS. I think its worse by some margin at high resolution and FPS (like 1920x1080) but better at lower ones, it's also much more limited as to what it can capture etc.

Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz 2,7 GHz 2,99 Go ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series 1680x1050 Here is the test of my Internet speed : www.speedtest.net/result/2572756046.png I tried to stream with 600/600 buffer and 30 FPS but it was horrible for viewers. Thanks.

I have done more yelling at people for doing it than i have reccomending it, plus quite a bit of stress testing with cpu logging. If i can run through stress tests in sc2 without exceeding 90% on any core aside from occasionally the main game thread @3.8ghz for 960x540, 60fps at medium, im pretty sure he can handle 840x525, 20-30fps at medium if not slow @2.67 (both nehalem) Not sure if thats a joking smily or pissed/judging o.0

I wouldnt touch it for playing around with a higher resolution stream (maybe 720, 30fps - 720, 60fps/1080, 30fps with a CPU like a 3770k@5ghz or a 3930k perhaps) but we're talking less than 20% of the resolution of "1080p" at only 20, 30fps. Tripling CPU load is not exactly fatal, it may not be sandy/ivy bridge or overclocked, but its still a desktop i7. I know the Nehalem i7's and ivy bridge pretty well.

Is there a 'fit to screen' option or something that I've been dumb and missed?

What input/output resolutions are you using? Twitch player is 16 : 9 i believe so it will have black bars unless you fullscreen if you don't use that aspect ratio.

5ghz i7-3770k, 2400mhz 4gb mushkins, z77x-ud5h, x25-m g2 80gb, gtx 460 768mb I've also been messing with the presets, for whatever reason given my bitrate issue, i can just stream on medium right? That'll make up for my low bitrate?

Preset cant make up for lower bitrate very well, even if you have like 25% higher efficiency in encoding, 2k 1366x768fps wont look nearly as good as 4k, even medium vs veryfast - and 2k medium vs 4k medium again you have the same bitrate gap but nothing to bridge it

I don't have the upload rate to stream to Twitch, I'm just saving the vids to disk and uploading the occasional one to Youtube. I'm also in terrible shape as a player so I don't see the point in streaming a lot :p I play SC2 on a different resolution to my monitor, and I've capped both with my monitor's standard aspect ratio, and the one I used for SC2. The latter actually looked a lot worse. I can get on my other PC to check these things if you want more specific details? Apart from the black border around everything, I'm actually super happy with OBS thus far.

If they are the same resolution or aspect ratio im not sure how black bars would manage to get added
