Can anyone explain why this happens? I have a dual monitor PC. One is 1920 x 1080 and the other is 1080 x 1920 and I'm trying to put OBS on my 1920x1080 with Dota 2, but it never works quite right. If I set it to monitor 1 in the settings, it captures Dota 2 (source is game) and if I set it to monitor 2 (source is game), then I get this weird thing. If I do capture monitor, it works lovely. edit: and now it works for some odd reason after I set up window/monitor capture and turn them off.

What's wrong when you set it to monitor 1?

AMD x4 955 2 GIG vid mem 8 gig ram If you haven't changed any settings in OBS then you're probably streaming at full resolution which I would assume would be somewhere in the range of 1920x1080p. Go into video settings and add a downscaler to at least 1280x720p @ say 20-30 FPS with your specs and let me know how it goes. Also you should be adding either Window Capture or Game Capture when you add the SC2 source. Avoid Monitor Capture as it's much less resource effective.

edit: apparently restarting of obs fixed that problem (temporarily i guess)

I have EVGA Precision, but I don't know how to allow that to ignore OBS. They're both hooking into game and apparently incompatible so if it works with just OBS+game but not with other program involved adding overlays and stuff on directx, probably not much you can do.
