I want to be able to play Starcraft without being connected to the internet sometimes. I believe this should be possible by either playing as a guest, or choosing "play offline" when prompted after attempting to sign in. However, when I do this I get an error message saying that offline play is not available with the Starcraft starter edition. I used to have the starter edition, but definitely have the full version now. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

It just means you need to activate the game online again, and it should be fine. You have to do this every so often (for me, sometimes its after a week, sometimes after 2 months, it really doesn't make much sense), and Bnet indeed states you're using the Starter Edition (which is just your regular SC2 without recent online activation).

Has nothing to do with starter edition etc, it just means your time has expired and you need to activate it again. Starter edition install IS sc2 install, there is no difference other than logging in with a legit account or not.
