About two weeks ago my computer started acting up. The internet would suddenly decide to be really slow, sometimes stopping completely. This is only happening on one of the computers, a laptop. No issues on one of the other laptops nor on a mac. No-one can remember downloading anything or visiting shady websites, nor can anyone remember if the laptop has been dropped, stepped on, spilt on or anything that would cause physical damage to the machine.
It's a Packard Bell EasyNote TS11SB with 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium.
Processor: AMD A8-3500M APU med Radeon HD Graphics 1.50 GHz
Internet is from Lyse Altibox, should be 60/60. Three laptops, two TVs connected to it most of the time, but like I said, no issues on any of the other machines.
I've run a full scan with Norton 360, but didn't find anything. CCleaner is ran often, and I'm also running another scan with AdAware that should be done in about an hour or so. I'm considering reverting to a backup point that was about two weeks before the issues started, but this seems like an easy way out and I'd rather find the issue so I can make sure it doesn't happen again.
Some more details:
I've tried using Firefox, Chrome and IE, the issues persists on all three browsers. Skype also has issues from time to other. When I download files, like when I recently updated CCleaner, the download took about a second for a 6mb file, so when the connection works, there's no issues. Restarts of the computer don't help, sometimes it just randomly decides to work for an hour or two, other times it'll go really slowly and not finish loading the page, other times it wont load at all and Chrome will tell me that it can't connect to the website at all.
I've checked the driver for the wireless network adapter, and it's up to date. "Atheros AR5B97 Wireless Network Adapter". I haven't tried connecting the laptop directly to the router through ethernet cable, but this wouldn't be an optimal solution as it's usually moved around a lot (the laptop).
If any more information is needed, let me know. I'm not very techincal of me, so if it's complicated, I'd appreciate you holding my hand through it all
