So, this is whats going on.
Since the 1st of january i cant log in on my own account on my pc, wich is the admin account. I can log in on the guest account, wich im using right now.
When i try to log i get the service user failed to log error. So far so good. However, when i try to change anything through the guest account, it asked for password, wich i enter, and then...nothing. The system does not respond in any way, not with an error, just nothing. It simply doesnt run.
I have malware bytes on my pc, it finds nothing, but ofcourse it might be out of date. If i try to update, or to install anything else it once again asks for admin password, and does nothing. If I download a program (tried to reinstall avg for example) it says it cannot find the file on my pc. If i try MCconfig, or CMG, but again admin password and nothing.
If i try to to boot in safe mode it does not respond to f8 and just boots up normally. I tried forcing the safe by turning off when i have programs open, wich works, but the pc does not respond to my arrow keys when booting up. The keyboard functions fine when logged in however. Note, the lights on my keyboard only light up when i see the login screen, not before.
I have some things in my head that i can try, the least invasive is pluggin in a different keyboard, and oldskool one, perhaps that 1 does work before the login screen. Or...a full system reinstall, but i dont have any backup wich will mean a loss of all my files.
Im not a pc tech myself, is there anyone that has a solution?
Thanks in advance
edit: oh and i dont seem to have the reinstall cd's, and I dont remember having them at all rofl. 2nd edit: Why i wanted to reinstall avg, it keeps saying i need to reboot to complete ti update process, even after i restart. Wich is why i think i have somekind of malware that the update process and perhaps me logging in as admin.

On my motherboard, there are two USB ports that are a bit special. They are grouped together with the single PS2 port the board still has for those old-school keyboards you speak about. Those two ports are intended for the keyboard and mouse you want to use inside the BIOS menus and stuff like that. You might have something similar on your PC, so try making sure your keyboard is plugged into those USB ports and not into some random USB3 port.
If you ever manage to get into Safe Mode, run "sfc /scannow" at a command prompt window. That command works on Windows 7 and 8 and will check and repair all Windows files.
No idea what else you can do if MalwareBytes does not find anything. You should also scan the PC from outside of Windows before you give up and reinstall Windows. Check out "Hiren's Boot CD". Put that on a USB stick and boot it on your PC and use the antivirus stuff it has. Download: http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/
Hiren's Boot CD also has this here which might be interesting for you: http://www.hirensbootcd.org/resetting-windows-password/

When the PC is booting can you confirm it says press F8 for safe mode? I had a... problem a while ago, i work in IT looking after Dell PC's but when i get home and have a problem I spend ages trying to get to safe mode only to realise it said press Delete -_-'
Malwarebytes is good but take it with a pinch of salt, a machine at my work came up with about 20 detections with it, but nothing from Sophos (installed AV). If you are infected there are plenty of ways to get rid of the infection. I'd download a bootable antivirus if Malwarebytes/ AVG aren't finding anything, SBAV is the FREE tool from Sophos, you just need to burn it to a CD (assuming you can boot to CD with your keyboard problems.
If that doesn't find anything then it's either a new infection or nothing there. New infection > click start, run, type msconfig.exe You can select diagnostic startup from there and then try logging in or go to startup and start de-selecting things you don't like the look of. (be careful what you de-select though!). Check the running services and processes and start killing things you don't like the look of until it works or you break something and have to reboot.
Nothing there > Windows problem! Are you able to login as the local administrator instead or did you setup your main account as the local admin? If you can login as the local admin then you can reset your main account password and also run the sfc scan Ropid sugggested, i believe it needs admin rights? Worse case you can use a tool to break into your PC, I use one at work sometimes to boot to a linux pen and then create a new admin user. From there you can rescue your data and clean up the mess after.
To the mods, can I link the program I use without risk of getting the ban hammer?

thx for the replys guys, ill try the ideas.
FlamingNinjaGuy, i cant install any program from my harddisk, or my external one for that matter, it says it cant find the file. But once again, i think it has to do with the admin thing, since i need to give it my password to run the file in the first place.

With bootable anti virus you ignore the operating system so don't need any passwords. Also with the bootable linux program you ignore the OS as well
I'm sending you a PM about the second one
