So last night my display driver started crashing and recovering (sort of, artefacts started popping up).
Opened up my case and cleaned out the fans etc, computer booted fine but displays werent working. Reconnected the card, displays working but computer now bluescreens during bootunh with a message indicating the display driver crashed and failed to recover: Http://imgur.com/DGeZxxm
Booted in safe mode and clean installed latest nvidia drivers but it didnt do anything.
Anything else I should try or should I just buy a new card? (I dont mind buying a new one but if this is a non card issue I will be pissed)
Currently got a geforce 560ti, motherboard asrock p67 pro3. running cpuz in safe mode I notice it doesnt have an entry for my graphics card but I guess thats a safe mode thing...
Recommendations for new card appreciated, dont need a monster but something decent.
Thx in advance. Oh and using win7 if that matters at all troubleshooting wise.

Update: If I manually uninstall my nvidia drivers in safe mode, and reboot, it will boot normally. However if I then reboot again, bluescreen returns.
Presumably because of the card being recognized, basic drivers installed etc...
Does this conclusively mean its hardware errror so I can go oit and buy a new card?

What BSoD error do you get?

Screwed up the img link in op I see:
EDIT:
If I install any drivers other than the shit-built in VGA ones, cant boot.

I don't know if this is relevant, but dxdiag has n/a for my processor, motherboard, etc etc etc
(shows up fine in device manager and cpuz however)
Also, I think this is normal but the core voltage here is fluctuating a bit (not big jumps, just like 0.960 to 0.980 range, then bigger jump if I do something like reload a page or whatever).

But I think this is just what's called speedstep and is normal.....
And finally given this is my motherboard: http://puu.sh/7Wyd9.png
Is GTX 750ti compatible for me -.-? Googled a bit and it seems all the standard versions are compatible with the Asrock P67 Pro3 SE but it appears I don't have the SE version right? EDIT#2303: OK seems compatible. I guess I'll buy this and see if it works. Worst case scenario I have a new graphics card.

I've used a driver sweeper already (not that one) to no effect. Is it definitely a software issue tho? Given that the initial problems came at a time when I hadn't changed anything software or hardware wise.
I'm going to reinstall windows anyway, because if it does work then I prefer that over spending >2 hours on the subway going all the way to fucking Yongsan to buy a new graphics card >_<
.... Now I'm dealing with the fun of my database program crashing mid backup leaving me with 30gb of waste data on my main drive instead of on the backup drive. Dont know shit about postgresql or how to locate and delete this trash

If you only get the BSOD you mentioned above and no other and did not change anything to drivers and firmware it's most likely a hardware issue and the GPU card is faulty.
Note: NVIDIA driver software can be configured to automatically check for updates. Are you sure there was no update just before the crashes started? On Windows 8.1 NVIDIA gpu driver updates are delivered through the automatic windows update process if you install optional updates. I don't know how this is on windows 7.
If you want you can read up on bugcheck 0x116 aka GPU's Timeout Detection and Recovery crashes: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/troubleshoot-timeout-detection-recovery-tdr-crashes-windows-7

I do not believe there was an update no, as the latest version of nvidia drivers is from last month and I would have thus already gotten it.
In addition, I did a system restore just after it started happening and the latest restore point was 3 days ago (and I believe a restore point is created everytime windows update is used).

Be careful buying new GPU if you're not sure old one is broken~
750ti is not really a significant upgrade, it just has some newer technologies like NVENC (hardware encoder) and uses a fraction of the power (like 3x the performance per watt)

I reinstalled windows and everything is fine until I install graphics drivers so it seems probable its the card at this point right?
What would be the rough equivalent of buying the 560ti in 2011, in todays terms? Obviously I dont game as much now but would just like a card I can not worry about upgrading for a few years.
Money doesnt really matter but I dont see a point in buying a monster when I haven't even played a game that my 560 felt inadequate for yet.

probably 760
the 760 is basically same thing as a 660ti, as 400/500 and 600/700 are basically the same gen (aside from 750/750ti, which is an exception and new)
problem then is that you're buying tech from first half of 2012, it's a bit of a weird time to be buying a midrange GPU. We'll get next gen stuff to replace them in ~q3/q4 this year or q1 next year (probably this year)
750ti is a pretty good filler card, if you wanted to grab one and replace it with a higher end card from next gen at some point, just because it's not too expensive compared to other options

If you are hesitant to buy a new graphics card you could try these things to maybe get yours working: - Install a previous version of your graphics card driver. - Set core and memory clock of your GPU to a lower value - maybe 10-15% lower.

560 is a hit and miss with nvidia drivers past version 314.22 (yes, that old). Some cards will have issues lined in this thread, others run with no issues. Try out the 314.22 drivers to see if it helps.

I really doubt it was driver version (if anything I expected it to be a case of corrupted ones) as the card has been running fine up until 2 days ago and there were no recent driver changes. But I'll give it a go thx.
EDIT: no difference
Anyway, so annoying how all cards in Korea cost a lot more than in the US -.- GTX 760 for like 300, 770 for 400, 750ti for 180~
It looks like I'll buy a 760, I take your point about it being a bad time with new ones coming up, but since I'm not a huge gamer I think and I hate tinkering with computer stuff (... well, the tinkering can be fun, I just hate if something goes wrong and I end up on the floor trying to figure out what I screwed up for days).

Just another suggestion here: Is there any way you could test a "working pull?" E.g. borrow a GPU that is running (and thus confirmed working) to test in your system.
This is to test/verify that this is indeed only your GPU at fault.

Not really feasible sadly. Anyhow, went and bought a 760.... they only had the 3 fan gigabyte version, gonna be a tight as fuck fit if it fits sigh ㅡㅡ

Card is 1 cm too big for my piece of shit CM Storm Scout 1.0 case, there's a retarded 0 function piece of metal blocking the card from fitting.
Now to decide on the fun of whether I go trade the card in (they didnt have any non-3 fan versions) and then order something online, OR try to buy a new and bigger case. ..... I'm gonna end up rebuilding a completely new PC by the end of this shit, I know it.
EDIT: Wonder if it's possible to remove the lower drive cage (that is blocking the card) somehow -_- At least the top of it. EDIT2: Not unless I want to buy a dremel, apparently.
And all cases in Korea are priced at like 2x their international price, very nice.

REMOVE ZE METAL :D :D
If it's not possible, most 750ti's are way smaller, as well as some other 760's - i think your limit is ~27cm, which is quite small (most cases allow for like 40cm)
CM Storm » Products: Scout www.cmstorm.com/en/products/chassis/scoutCM Storm Scout Manual - Multilanguage, Manual, 4.1 MB, 1.0, Mar 16, 2009 ... Please ensure that your GPU does NOT exceed 10.6-inch (270mm) in length, or you ..
Not sure what else it says
If you can try your previous GPU in another system btw, it's probably a good idea to do so. If it doesn't work there, you know you're probably doing the right thing buying a new one

Can't really think of a good way to test the card that doesn't involve going halfway across Seoul and taking apart a friends computer haha (my girlfriend lives close but only has a laptop as far as I know)
You mentioned there's a lot of new gen Maxwell cards coming from nvidia in the near future, are they also going to be smaller (such as the 750ti which is positively tiny)?
Debating whether to buy a new case (which is going to be horribly overpriced if I buy anything with a brand name, how important are cases anyway?), or if future cards are likely to be smaller then I could keep this case and just order a 750ti and call it a day.
If new case is this overkill? http://item2.gmarket.co.kr/Item/detailview/Item.aspx?goodscode=458417763&pos_class_cd=111111111&pos_class_kind=T&pos_shop_cd=SH&keyword_seqno=4613744038&search_keyword=nzxt
The 'piece of metal' is the roof of the drive cage, lacking necessary tools to remove it TT
EDIT: Gonna feel slightly ridiculous having a 750w PSU if I do get the 750ti haha :D
