Hi
After putting in a RX 580 I get stuttering and low FPS at the start of the game. Looks like its an issue with the card staying at its base clock until the game heats up. Late game fps is fine and the card boosts to where it should be. AMD chill is off.
If anyone knows a setting to fix this I would really appreciate them letting me know.
Thanks

I am not familiar with the newer gen amd cards and you already mentioned amd chill which might be what im talking about, but is there a setting to have the card always running at maximum clocks? Some sort of maximum performance mode you can test so see if that fixes the issue? I know nvidia has such a setting.

Your FPS is higher lategame than it is earlygame?

I get this in a lot of games, and I believe (in my case) it's because all my games are installed on a harddrive, so when a game first loads up, it takes a while to read the data from the slow harddrive
Do you have your game installed on an SSD?

Thanks for the replies guys, apologies for not getting back sooner.
Yep, it only lags early game! It's bad enough its hard to click on probes to get them to gas, build buildings etc. By the time I have a few gateways down its fine....it's not very nice during all in's though!
6700k @4.6, fast ram, RX 580 and the game is installed on an SSD with plenty of spare space. I also have some of the CPU heavy settings like physics turned down so it doesn't chug during big battles.
Its certainly the GPU that is the issue as it only started after I replaced the 7970 I had sitting in there.
I guess I could make all GPU clocks the max state....but I often leave the game open for long periods of time when not being used, so this seems kinda wasteful.
